The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have prescribed eligibility criteria for the RRB Nursing Superintendent Recruitment 2026 post under CEN 05/2026. RRB Nursing Superintendent Eligibility 2026 is based on the candidate’s educational qualification, age and medical fitness.

• A Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife after passing a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a School of Nursing or other institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

• B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution.

Candidates must have obtained the required qualification by the closing date of the application. Those who are waiting for the result of their final qualifying examination are not eligible to apply.

RRB Nursing Superintendent Nationality 2026

Candidates applying for RRB Nursing Superintendent Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the nationality or citizenship conditions prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Candidates can apply if they fall under any of the following categories:

• A citizen of India.

• A citizen of Nepal.

• A subject of Bhutan.

• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to the categories of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees or eligible persons of Indian origin must have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India, wherever applicable. The certificate must be produced during Document Verification if required.

Candidates should check the nationality and citizenship conditions in the official CEN 05/2026 notification before submitting the application form.

RRB Nursing Superintendent Age Limit 2026

The RRB Nursing Superintendent age limit 2026 is 20 to 40 years as on January 1, 2027.

RRB Nursing Superintendent Age Relaxation 2026

Candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories can get relaxation in the upper age limit. SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 years of relaxation, while OBC-NCL candidates can get 3 years.

PwBD candidates are eligible for additional relaxation depending on their category. The maximum relaxation can be 10 years for PwBD candidates belonging to UR/EWS, 13 years for PwBD candidates belonging to OBC-NCL and 15 years for PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST.

Candidates must have the required documents to claim age relaxation. The age relaxation is applicable as per the conditions mentioned in the official RRB notification (CEN 05/2026).

RRB Nursing Superintendent Medical Standard 2026

Candidates applying for the Nursing Superintendent post must meet the prescribed C1 medical standard.

Medical fitness is checked during the recruitment process. Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification are required to undergo the prescribed medical examination conducted by the Railway Administration.

Candidates who do not meet the required medical standard will not be eligible for appointment.

Who Can Apply for RRB Nursing Superintendent Recruitment 2026?

Candidates can apply for the Nursing Superintendent post if they:

• Are between 20 and 40 years of age as on January 1, 2027.

• Have completed a recognised 3-year GNM course and hold the required Registered Nurse and Midwife certificate, or have a B.Sc Nursing qualification.

• Have obtained the required qualification by the application closing date.

• Meet the prescribed C1 medical standard.

• Fulfil the applicable conditions for age relaxation if claiming relaxation.
