This section tests students' understanding of computer-related concepts and information technology. The topics vary according to the class and may cover areas such as computer fundamentals, hardware, software, applications, technology, and other concepts related to the use of computers.

Students should refer to the class-wise syllabus while preparing because the topics and difficulty level vary from Class 1 to Class 10.

The Achievers Section is designed to test students beyond basic recall. Questions require students to apply their understanding and think carefully before selecting an answer.

Students should therefore focus on understanding concepts instead of only memorising definitions.

The marking scheme for the CREST Cyber Olympiad varies according to the class.

  • Classes 1 to 4: Total weightage of 45 marks

How to Prepare for CREST Cyber Olympiad?

Preparing for the CREST Cyber Olympiad becomes easier when students understand the syllabus and practise questions regularly. Since the exam tests both basic concepts and application-based understanding, students should focus on understanding topics instead of simply memorising them.

Here are some useful preparation tips:

1. Understand the Class-Wise Syllabus

Start by checking the syllabus for your class. Make a list of the topics included in the Computers and IT section and plan your preparation accordingly.

2. Strengthen Computer Fundamentals

Build a strong understanding of basic computer concepts, hardware, software, applications, and other topics included in the syllabus.

3. Practise Application-Based Questions

The CCO is not limited to direct questions. Practising application-based questions can help students become more comfortable with questions that require logical thinking.

4. Attempt Sample Papers

Sample papers give students an idea about the type of questions asked in the examination. They can also help students identify topics that need more practice.

5. Solve Previous Year Papers

Previous year papers are useful for understanding the exam format and practising questions within a limited time.

6. Take Mock Tests

Mock tests can help students improve their speed and accuracy. After every test, students should review their mistakes and revise the concepts they found difficult.

Regular revision helps students retain important computer concepts and reduces the need to learn everything again before the examination.
