INBO Syllabus 2024-25 : The INBO (Indian National Biology Olympiad) is a national-level exam and the second stage of the International Biology Olympiad Programme conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education’s (HBCSE).

INBO 2024-25 Exam Pattern

1. INBO Exam Pattern: INBO is conducted in two parts: theory test and practical test.
2. Concept test: The concept test consists of multiple choice questions (MCQ) and mental questions. Participants are tested on a variety of biological topics, including, but not limited to, cell biology, genetics, ecology, and agriculture.
3. Practical Exam: The practical test assesses students' knowledge and practical skills in biology. Participants are tasked with experimenting, analyzing data and drawing conclusions based on their findings.
4. Duration: The duration of the theory and practical test will be intimated to the participants before the date of the test.
5. Syllabus: INBO curriculum is based on the syllabus prescribed for class 11 and 12 by the official education boards in India like CBSE, ICSE and state boards.
6. Score: Each question carries multiple marks and wrong answers may carry negative marks. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before attempting the questions.

• Genetics : Understanding of genes, heredity, DNA, RNA, genetic disorders, and genetic engineering.
• Biotechnology : Application of biological processes in technology, including areas like genetic engineering, bioremediation, and biopharmaceuticals.
• Evolution : Understanding the process of evolution, natural selection, adaptation, and speciation.
• Plant Biology : Study of plant structure, growth, reproduction, and adaptations to various environments.
• Ecology: Examination of interactions between organisms and their environment, ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation.
• Physiology: Study of how living organisms function, including topics like respiration, digestion, circulation, and nervous system.
• Animal Biology : Examination of animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, and diversity.
• Microbiology: Study of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and their roles in ecosystems and human health.
• Immunology : Understanding the immune system, immunity, vaccines, and immune responses to pathogens.
