Consequently, as a national and social obligation, the Centre for Talent Search and Excellence, N. Wadia College, Pune has initiated the identification of talented students through the "Maharashtra Talent Search Examination" since 1992.
The Nowrosjee Wadia College Pune has introduced the Maharashtra Talent Search Exam 2025 for learners enrolled in classes 8th, 9th, and 10th. For the year 2025 the Maharashtra Talent Search Exam Date is 26th April 2025 (Saturday).
The MTS exam consists of two papers, the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), with objective-type questions for the students of schools of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, and Gujarat
Through MTS Examination 2025, a scholarship will be awarded to the selected student to help them pursue their education without stress over financial issues.

Students can fill the Maharashtra Talent Search Application Form both online and offline. The MTS Examination Registration Process is going on and the last date for Maharashtra Talent Search Registration Process is 11th February 2025.
To submit an Online Application Form, students need to pay an application fee of Rs. 215/- using secure online payment methods like Net Banking, UPI, Debit/Credit Cards.
For the offline process you need to download and print the application form, then submit it via School / Coordinator / By Hand. Payment of Rs. 200/- is required in cash.
If forms are required by post, for a single student, then a DD or MO of Rs. 250/- [Rs. 200/- + Rs. 50/-Postage] for each student must be forwarded to the MTS Office.
Upon submitting application forms, students will obtain an Acknowledgement and Admit Card. Students must bring this admit card when attending the examination. Make a photocopy if needed.

The MTS exam consists of two papers, the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), with objective-type questions. The MAT covers mental ability, while the SAT covers the school syllabus for the respective class.

Paper I - Mental Ability Test (MAT) - It will have a slightly higher difficulty level than the Mental Ability Paper of Scholarship Examination of Std. VII for Std. VIII, MTSE of Std. VIII for Std. IX and MTSE of Std. IX for Std. X.
Paper II - Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) - For Std. VIII, Std. IX and Std. X the syllabus will be as per the school syllabus for respective subjects and classes for the entire academic year. The students should use the regular prescribed text books prescribed for the academic year. It is expected that the student should thoroughly study the curriculum of the whole year.
Interview will be conducted only for Std. X carrying 50 marks - There is no specific syllabus for the interview. The abilities such as understanding, analysis, application with respect to the school subjects will be tested. In addition, the knowledge of current national and international events, the environment in which one lives, achievements in extra-curricular activities in school, hobbies, sports etc., will also be considered.
All students enrolled in grades VIII, IX, and X in government-recognized schools. Taking the MTSE has demonstrated to be beneficial as preparation for the NTS Examination.
Most MTSE Scholars have achieved success in the NTS Examination. Nevertheless, taking the MTSE is not a requirement for the NTSE.
For appearing at MTSE std. IX, it is not compulsory to have appeared at MTSE std VIII.
For appearing at MTSE std. X it is not compulsory to have appeared at MTSE std.VIII & IX.
In Maharashtra Talent Search Exam will be two written exams for all levels, which will take place on the same day for a duration of three hours without any breaks in between.
The questions for the written examination will be multiple choice questions (MCQs). For each question, four possible answers will be given, and the student must choose the correct answer.
For the MTS Examination, a student will receive one question paper that includes both sections, namely MAT and SAT, and he must answer these 200 questions within a duration of 3 hours.

Interview
The interview is conducted only for Class X for 50 Marks. There is no interview round for Class VIII & IX.
For the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) the students must utilize the standard textbooks designated for the academic year. Learners should comprehensively review the entire year's curriculum.
For the Mental Ability Test (MAT) Numerous books from various publishers are accessible for MTS and NTS assessments. Learners select books according to their preference.
Sets of papers (Paper I + II) from the past 5 years for Classes VIII, IX, and X can be obtained for a fee of Rs. 177/- in cash (Rs. 250/- by post) for each set of one standard to be delivered by D.D. or M.O.
Student must provide his/her standard, complete name, examination medium, and home address when requesting the Maharashtra Talent Search Previous Year Paper sets.
Here are the details of the Maharashtra Talent Search Awards and Prizes. Schools at all district places and within corporation limits will be treated as urban while all schools in villages and taluka places are incorporated into rural areas.
1) State Level Prize: Students who appear on the state level merit list will receive a State Level Prize of Rs. 1000/- each.
2) District Level Prize: Students who did not obtain a position on the State level merit list but are included in the District Level Merit List will be given the District Level Prize of Rs. 400/-. The quantity of students chosen for the MTS Prize at the state or district level is based on the total number of students taking the exam across the state and the marks obtained.
3) Special Prizes: Rs. 200/- each will be granted to students who did not receive a State or District Prize but have achieved marks surpassing a specified threshold.
4) Taluka Prizes: Rs. 150/- each will be awarded to students who performed well in their respective Talukas, yet have not been granted State or District Level Prizes.
5) Consolation Prizes: Certain students will receive consolation prizes of Rs. 100/-.
6) Merit Prizes: Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/-, and Rs. 2000/- will be awarded to the top three students in the state level merit lists for both rural and urban areas in each standard. A special prize of Rs. 500/- will be given to the student who ranks first in every paper and section of the written examination.
7) Other Medium Prize: Rs. 400/- will be awarded to the certificate holder with the highest marks among Hindi and Urdu medium students.
8) Certificates: Students who score 70 marks or more out of 200 in the written examination will receive a certificate of merit.
