The SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is an annual academic competition organised by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for students from Classes 1 to 12. SOF International Mathematics Olympiad Eligibility Criteria

Below are the details about the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad Eligibility Criteria:

Level 1 Eligibility

Students studying in Classes 1 to 12 in schools recognised by SOF are eligible to participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad. Students can appear only for the Olympiad corresponding to their current class. No additional eligibility criteria apply.

Level 2 Eligibility

The Level 2 examination is conducted only for students of Classes 3 to 12. Students of Classes 1 and 2 do not appear for Level 2.

The top 5% of participating students class-wise in the Level 1 examination qualify for Level 2.

The SOF IMO assesses students' understanding of mathematics through questions that evaluate conceptual knowledge, mathematical reasoning, logical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

Students cannot register individually for the SOF IMO examination. The registration process is conducted through participating schools.

  • Schools must submit the SOF IMO application form at least 30 days before the examination date.

  • Students should register through their respective school authorities.

  • Applications submitted directly by individual students are not accepted.
