Preparing for GPAT with college can be challenging, especially when the preparation timeline becomes shorter than expected. Anubhab, a fourth-year B.Pharm student, started his GPAT preparation in the third year and became more serious about it during his fourth year. His journey also involved managing college classes, backlogs and the shortened preparation window.
The GPAT 2026 Topper Anubhab AIR 399's story highlights how he structured his final preparation, focused on important topics, practised MCQs and used revision to strengthen his preparation. He also shares how PW Pharma became part of his preparation journey.
Anubhab is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Pharmacy from BCDA College of Pharmacy and Technology and was in his fourth year during the GPAT 2026 preparation. He said that he started preparing for GPAT in his third year, but his maximum focus and serious preparation came during the fourth year.
Talking about when he became serious about GPAT preparation, Anubhab said:
βMatlab jo mera maximum output tha wo maine fourth year se hi zyada seriously start kiya tha padhai.β
His preparation became more intense when the examination schedule changed and the available preparation time became shorter.
He explained how the change affected his preparation:
βTo phir last ke teen mahine to aur bhi extra efforts daalne pade the jab dates preponed ho gaye the us time to uske baad zyada dhyan dena pada.β
The shorter timeline meant that he had to increase his efforts during the final three months. Along with his academic schedule, he also had to manage other commitments during this period.
As the examination approached, Anubhab focused on prioritising topics instead of trying to prepare everything in the same way. His 30-day approach involved identifying subjects he was more interested in, revising them and solving related MCQs.
He explained how he decided what to study first:
"30 days strategy mein to matlab maine to yahi socha tha ki sabse pehle mujhe apne highest rate of interest wale subjects ko cover karna hai."
He also used videos to identify important topics and then combined revision with question practice:
"Ab unko revise karta tha aur ma'am unke related MCQs kar leta tha kyunki matlab MCQs ke bina mujhe maalum nahi chalta tha ki main kitna unko attempt kar pata hoon."
His routine also included classes and DPPs. In the evening, he used questions for additional practice and noted the points he learned from them. This approach helped him balance preparation with college-related responsibilities during the final phase.
Anubhab had been connected with PW Pharma from its early stage and studied through the GPAT 1.0 batch. His preparation included classes, DPPs, MCQ practice and mock tests.
Talking about when he joined PW Pharma, he said:
βMa'am, main ekdum GPAT ka jo 1.0 wala batch tha, main usi se hoon kyunki jis time mujhe maalum chala ki PW Pharma ka matlab launch hone wala hai to main usi time wo wala le liya tha phir baad mein 2.0 aaya 3.0 aaya wo sab aaya. β
He also clearly mentioned that his association with PW Pharma started early:
"Main ekdum pehle se hi hoon."
For practice, Anubhab tried to maintain regularity with mock tests. When he missed a test, he either attempted it later or at least went through the questions to understand the types of questions being asked.
This made the practice process useful even when he could not follow the mock-test schedule perfectly. Rather than completely ignoring a missed test, he used the questions to understand possible question patterns and identify areas that needed attention.
Along with his study strategy, Anubhab highlighted the importance of returning to preparation after a break instead of allowing guilt to create a longer gap.
He acknowledged that maintaining consistency continuously can be difficult:
"Yes ma'am kyunki beech beech mein consistency break to sabki hogi hi. Ab us cheez ko leke zyada sochenge to phir zyada guilt aata hai aur us guilt se aur bhi padhne ka mann nahi karta hai."
He also explained what could happen when a break became longer:
"Lekin ma'am usse zyada baad mein dikkat hoti hai. Baad mein wo bahut bada backlog ban jaata hai."
For Anubhab, revision remained an important part of preparation. Even when consistency was interrupted, returning to studies and avoiding a prolonged backlog was important for keeping preparation on track.
After seeing his result, Anubhab shared that he was happy, while also keeping his next examination in focus. His immediate target was NIPER, where he wanted to pursue his preferred branch and campus.
Talking about his next goal, he said:
"Filhaal to target to abhi NIPER hi hai aur usmein bhi matlab manpasand branch aur manpasand campus mil jaaye uske baad ma'am aage to aur bhi journey hai."
He also shared his area of interest for further study:
"Primarily pharmaceutical chemistry mein interest hai thoda bahut aur thoda wo wala matlab chemistry wale part mein thoda zyada interest aa gaya hai, to phir ma'am usi ko pursue karna pasand karunga."
His GPAT result therefore marks one stage of his academic journey, while his immediate focus remains on the next step in pharmacy education.
Anubhabβs journey shows that even with college responsibilities, a shorter preparation window and breaks in consistency, focused effort and a clear strategy can help students move forward. His GPAT 2026 achievement can inspire other aspirants to stay consistent, use their preparation time wisely and keep working towards their goals.
