Preparing for GPAT along with college can be challenging, especially when the preparation time is limited. Managing college sessions, completing the syllabus and revising important topics requires a focused approach.
GPAT 2026 Topper Nikita AIR 555 shares her preparation journey, including how she started preparing in the seventh semester, managed her college schedule, focused on revision and used PW resources during preparation.
Nikita is currently in the fourth year of B.Pharm at Ram-Eesh Institute of Vocational and Technical Education, Greater Noida. She decided to seriously start her GPAT preparation in the seventh semester.
She had initially planned to begin earlier, but college commitments affected her preparation. When the examination was around two months away, she shifted to a focused preparation mode.
Nikita explained that her preparation became more focused when she decided to seriously work towards GPAT.
"Ma'am, starting se mera main goal tha ki main apne concept clear karun."
She also shared how she used standard books and prepared her own notes to build her concepts.
"To maine starting se hi standard books ko prepare kiya aur uske through apne notes prepare karein."
Nikita's preparation initially focused on understanding concepts rather than only completing topics. She used standard books and prepared her own notes, which helped her build her concepts.
However, she could not maintain continuous preparation earlier because of college. She later joined PW and worked on making her preparation more consistent.
Her approach was centred on understanding the material first.
"To usse mere concepts toh build up ho gaye the."
She also explained that she had thought about preparing for GPAT from the third year but could not maintain continuous preparation at that stage.
"Mujhe third year se laga ki mujhe karni hai, lekin uski wajah se... woh ho nahi paya, itni matlab continuous preparation nahi ho payi."
For the final stage of preparation, Nikita focused mainly on revision instead of taking up new topics. She believed that new topics could take considerable time to cover properly.
She specifically revised classification in the morning and worked on hard topics during the morning study period. In the evening, she focused on GPAT MCQs and previous-year questions.
Her final-stage strategy was clearly focused on revision.
"Ma'am, maine last mein se focus kara revision mein, kyunki maine last mein new topics ko nahi liya."
She also highlighted the importance of repeated revision and previous-year questions during GPAT preparation.
"MCQs aur previous year... matlab core hi yahi nikal ke aata hai, revision and revision."
Nikita initially studied for around two to three hours. During the last three months, however, she increased her study time to around seven to eight hours consistently.
Along with college, she also had to prepare for sessional examinations. Her college later supported her preparation by giving her one month of leave.
She described how her study hours increased during the final three months.
"Last ke three months se, to maine 7 to 8 hours toh maine diye hi hain continuously."
She also used short rest periods before beginning her study sessions again.
"Main ye karti thi ki college se jaake main ek ghante ki nap le leti thi. Uske baad main padhna shuru karti thi."
Nikita had joined PW but initially struggled with consistency and had a backlog. She then received guidance to continue attending live classes instead of leaving them because of the backlog.
She also explained how PW helped her understand what to focus on within the broad GPAT syllabus. According to Nikita, the tables provided by PW helped condense important information and made revision easier.
She specifically highlighted how the tables helped her focus on GPAT-relevant points.
"Syllabus bahut zyada broad hai, to agar main koi topic padhne baithi hoon, to usmein bahut saara padhne ke liye hai. To mujhe kitna focus daalna hai, kaunse point pe focus daalna hai, jo GPAT ke liye important hai, woh humein matlab PW ne bataya."
She further explained how these tables made the information easier to revise and understand.
"Jaise tables de diye, to tables ne ekdum short kar diya sab cheezon ko, to woh easy catchable ho gaya."
After GPAT, Nikita wants to continue working towards her next academic goal. She expressed an interest in preparing for NIPER and pursuing an M.Pharm.
She acknowledged that she had expected more from her NIPER performance but wants to work harder for the next opportunity.
Nikita shared her future goal clearly.
"Mera ab ye hai ki main aur zyada mehnat karun aur NIPER crack karun aur NIPER mein jaaun."
She also expressed her determination to continue working towards her goals.
"Aur ma'am karna hi hai. Life mein kuch achieve to karna hi hai."
Nikitaβs GPAT journey shows that consistent preparation can make a difference even when students have to manage college along with exam preparation. Her approach focused on building concepts, using standard books, preparing notes, revising regularly and solving MCQs and previous-year questions. Her experience also highlights the importance of using the final weeks for revision and focusing on important topics instead of trying to cover everything at the last moment.
For GPAT aspirants, her journey highlights the value of starting with clear concepts, maintaining consistency and making time for regular revision and practice. Students preparing for GPAT can also take preparation support from PW through Pharma batches, lectures, study books, previous-year questions and test series to structure their preparation and practice.
