KEAM Pharmacy Marking Scheme 2025

KEAM Pharmacy 2025 exam follows a specific marking scheme for the multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The marking rules are as follows:

• Correct Answer: For each correct answer, +4 marks will be awarded.

• Incorrect Answer: For each incorrect answer, -1 mark (penalty) will be deducted.

• Unattempted Question: No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions that are left unattempted.

The total marks will be calculated by awarding +4 marks for each correct answer and deducting -1 mark for each incorrect answer. As the exam includes negative marking, it is advised that candidates avoid guessing answers if they are unsure, as this could lead to a loss of marks.

KEAM Pharmacy Exam 2025- Total No. of Questions

KEAM Pharmacy Exam consists of 75 total questions, divided into two subjects: Chemistry and Physics. This distribution shows that chemistry is given more weight than physics, which has fewer questions but still requires adequate preparation. The total exam duration for the KEAM Pharmacy exam is 90 minutes. It is important for students to manage their time effectively between the two sections (Chemistry and Physics). Since Chemistry has more questions, students should allocate more time to this section. However, it is important to avoid spending too much time on a single question, as this can lead to insufficient time for other sections.  

KEAM Pharmacy Exam 2025 - Negative Marking

KEAM Pharmacy exam includes negative marking, which means that for every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. It is important to approach the exam with a strategy that minimizes the risks associated with negative marking. Candidates are advised to attempt only those questions they are confident about. If unsure about an answer, it’s better to leave the question unanswered rather than risk losing marks for a wrong response.

If a student does not answer at least one question, they will be disqualified and not included in the Pharmacy rank list. Therefore, every candidate must ensure that they attempt all questions in the exam.
