Purohit Manan Amitkumar secured AIR 901 in NIPER JEE 2026. After qualifying GPAT, he had around one and a half months to prepare for NIPER JEE. Instead of taking a long break after GPAT, he used this time to prepare for the different requirements of the NIPER examination.
A major part of his preparation focused on the non-pharma section. Since his basic education was in Gujarati medium and he found English and Mathematics challenging, he gave additional attention to these areas. He also divided his examination time carefully between the pharma and non-pharma sections.
After completing GPAT, Manan had to quickly shift his focus towards NIPER JEE. The shorter preparation window meant that he could not rely only on his previous preparation, especially because the non-pharma section required additional attention.
Talking about his preparation during this period, Manan said,
โSabse pehle toh maine syllabus check kiya ki non-pharma ke questions jo hai uska pattern change ho chuka hai aur woh 50 se leke 80 ho chuka hai. Toh pehle toh mujhe thoda panic ho raha tha ki non-pharma kaise karenge ye sab.โ
He then started working on the areas that needed more preparation instead of spending the entire time only revising familiar topics.
The change in the non-pharma section made it an important part of Manan's preparation. He started with the non-pharma topics and gradually worked on areas where he needed more practice.
Manan explained,
โToh phir maine sabse pehle toh non-pharma ki preparation start kari thi ki non-pharma jo hai pehle seekhte hain thoda-thoda.โ
His background also influenced his preparation strategy. Since he had studied in Gujarati medium, he gave additional attention to English and numerical-based questions.
He said,
โMera basic education jo hai woh Gujarati medium se, main Gujarat mein rehne wala hoon, toh mera Gujarati medium ka basic education hai. Toh meri jo pichhli class jaise ki aapko pata hai ki normal numericals hi aate hain usmein aur English jo hai mera thoda weak tha, toh maine uspe thoda zyada dhyaan diya tha.โ
Manan had already completed the GPAT syllabus once before starting his focused NIPER JEE preparation. He used this earlier preparation as a base and revised the syllabus again while giving extra attention to non-pharma areas.
Talking about his approach, Manan said,
โGPAT mein syllabus toh ek baar complete kara hi tha poora, toh phir usko maine phir revise kara tha aur aise hi phir preparation kari thi maine iske liye.โ
His preparation through the PW Pharma Classes ecosystem also formed part of his preparation journey, while the shift towards NIPER required him to work more specifically on the areas that were different from his earlier preparation.
Mathematics was one of the areas Manan found difficult, so he gave it additional attention during his NIPER preparation. Instead of avoiding the numerical portion, he deliberately worked on it because it was part of the non-pharma section.
He said
โNon-pharma ki preparation ke liye sabse pehle toh numericals jo hai woh mujhe bahut tough lagte hain kyunki Mathematics thoda weak hai mera, toh usse maine zyada focus kiya tha.โ
Along with Mathematics, he also worked on English because he considered it one of his weaker areas due to his Gujarati-medium schooling. This helped him cover the non-pharma section more deliberately rather than focusing only on pharmaceutical subjects.
Manan used a specific time-management strategy for the NIPER JEE examination. Instead of dividing the entire 2 hours and 30 minutes equally and leaving revision for whatever time remained, he created fixed slots for both major sections.
He explained,
โHumein bataya hai ki 2 hours and 30 minutes humein total milte hain poore examination ke liye. Toh maine usko 1 hour and 10 minutes mein do part mein divide kar liya tha ki 1 hour and 10 minutes mein mujhe pharma karna hai aur 1 hour and 10 minutes mein mujhe non-pharma karna hai.โ
He kept the remaining five minutes for a quick review of his answers.
โAur jo baaki ke 5 minutes hai usko maine aise divide kara tha ki ek baar poora revise kar le ki humne jo kara hai, jo select kara hai woh achha barabar ho, aisa.โ
This strategy allowed him to keep a separate time limit for solving each section while also reserving a few minutes to review his responses.
After securing AIR 901, Manan already had a few fields in mind for his future studies. He was particularly interested in Pharmaceutics and also considered Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology.
Talking about his interests, he said,
โMujhe pehle se hi Pharmaceutics mein bahut zyada interest raha hai aur Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology wagarah usmein zyada mujhe interest hai.โ
He had also considered Medical Devices as one of his options.
โMaine chaar field decide kari hai ki Pharmaceutics, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry aur Pharmaceutical Technology aur usmein Medical Device bhi maine ek socha hai ki usmein shayad mujhe mil jaye toh main zaroor jaana chahunga.โ
Manan also mentioned Ahmedabad as his first preference while keeping the final choice dependent on the counselling process.
When the NIPER JEE 2026 result was released, Manan first shared the news with his father. His AIR 901 result was a source of happiness for his family, especially because he recognised his father's contribution to his preparation journey.
Manan recalled,
โJab pata chala ki result out ho chuka hai toh sabse pehle toh maine mere papa ko bataya ki result aa gaya hai aur 901 meri rank hai, toh woh sunke toh unko toh bahut khushi hui.โ
He also acknowledged the support behind his result, saying,
โKahin na kahin unka bhi bahut bada haath tha ye success ke peeche.โ
Manan's preparation shows the importance of identifying the sections that require more attention and giving them dedicated preparation time. His approach focused on understanding the NIPER pattern, strengthening weaker areas, and dividing examination time before entering the exam.
His experience with Mathematics also shows that students should not completely avoid subjects they find difficult. Instead, they can identify such areas early and give them additional preparation time.
For the examination itself, his advice is reflected in his time-management strategy:
โMaine usko 1 hour and 10 minutes mein do part mein divide kar liya tha ki 1 hour and 10 minutes mein mujhe pharma karna hai aur 1 hour and 10 minutes mein mujhe non-pharma karna hai.โ
With this preparation and a planned approach to the examination, Purohit Manan Amitkumar secured AIR 901 in NIPER JEE 2026 and is now looking forward to pursuing his preferred field through the counselling process.
