RRB Group D Safe Score 2025

RRB Group D Safe Score 2025: The RRB Group D cutoff varies significantly across railway zones, and there is no single national cutoff due to differences in applicant volume, competition, and normalization. Many candidates assume that 50–60 marks may be sufficient, but for 2025, this range will not be enough for most categories in competitive zones.

With the RRB Group D exam scheduled between 27 November and 16 January, a total of 32 days and 96 shifts, normalization will impact scores more strongly this year. Overall, candidates, especially in the General category, must aim higher than in previous cycles. Below is a detailed breakdown of safe scores based on expected patterns and recent trends.

Top Performing Zones

Chandigarh, Ranchi, Kolkata, Gorakhpur, and Ajmer consistently record the highest cutoffs due to strong candidate performance and high competition levels. In the previous cycle:

  • General percentile cutoff: 98.35

  • Normalized marks: approx. 68–70

Expected 2025 Safe Score

This year, the difficulty level and competition are expected to be slightly higher. Aiming higher ensures safety across shifts with varying difficulty.

  • Safe Score: 72–75 marks

  • Highly Safe Score: 76–80 marks

If you secure around 75 marks, you remain competitive across nearly all zones, as normalization usually adds a slight advantage.

RRB Group D Cut Off Category-Wise Variation

Expected Differences

Cutoff differences across categories typically follow this trend:

  • OBC: 2–3 marks lower than Genera

  • SC/ST: 7–8 marks lower than General

A variation of 10–11 marks between categories is normal and consistent with historical patterns.

RRB Group D CBT 1 Exam Structure and Target Score

The RRB Group D Exam Pattern CBT 1 includes 100 questions to be solved in 90 minutes, with a 1/3rd negative marking for each incorrect answer. The distribution is: Mathematics (25), Reasoning (30), General Science (25), and Current Affairs (20). Considering normalization and expected difficulty, the recommended targets are:

  • General: 72–75

  • OBC: 69–72

  • SC/ST: 63–68

Normalization often increases raw scores slightly, especially in difficult shifts.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Requirements

Candidates who clear CBT 1 must qualify PET. It is a qualifying test; marks are not added to merit. Performance capability, stamina, and practice play a key role.
