CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2026 Dates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026, announcing that the exams will commence from February 17, 2026. This year marks a significant move by CBSE, as the date sheet has been issued 110 days before the start of the exams, allowing students, teachers, and schools ample time to plan their academic and revision schedules effectively.
Earlier, while declaring the results of the 2025 board exams, CBSE had informed that the 2026 board exams would begin in February and, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Class 10 students will have two board examinations in the academic year. The initiative aims to ease exam pressure and provide students with multiple opportunities to perform their best.
For the first time, CBSE had also released a provisional date sheet on September 24, 2025, nearly 146 days before the exam commencement date. After receiving the final List of Candidates (LOC) from all schools, CBSE has now published the final timetable. While preparing the schedule, the Board considered several crucial factors to ensure smooth conduct and minimal overlap of subjects.
Students can download the official CBSE 2026 Board Exam Date Sheet PDF for both Class 10 and Class 12 from the official website. The early release of the date sheet gives students sufficient time for thorough preparation, while schools can plan internal assessments, practical exams, and pre-board tests accordingly.
The Class 10 exams will start from February 17, 2026, and are expected to conclude in mid-March 2026. The schedule ensures a sufficient gap between major subjects like Science, Mathematics, and Social Science. This will help students revise systematically and perform better across all papers.
The Class 12 board exams will also begin on February 17, 2026, and will continue until April 2026. CBSE has planned the schedule carefully to avoid overlapping with national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET, allowing students ample time to prepare for both.
