
Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 on April 15, bringing relief to more than 24 lakh students across India and abroad. The results have been released on official CBSE websites and digital platforms such as DigiLocker and UMANG, allowing students to access their scorecards easily using basic login credentials.
This year, the overall pass percentage stands at 93.70%, showing a slight improvement compared to last year’s 93.66%. Although the increase is marginal, it reflects a stable academic performance trend across the country. Around 24.8 lakh students registered for the examination, while approximately 24.7 lakh appeared for the board exams, making it one of the largest academic evaluations conducted annually in India.
A key highlight of the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 is the consistent performance gap between girls and boys. Girls have once again outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 94.99%, while boys recorded 92.69%. Transgender students achieved a pass percentage of 87.50%, reflecting inclusive participation and steady academic outcomes across all categories.
Regional performance shows strong results from southern and metropolitan zones. Trivandrum and Vijayawada jointly secured the top position with an exceptional pass percentage of 99.79%. Chennai followed closely with 99.58%, while Delhi West and Delhi East recorded 97.45% and 97.33% respectively. On the lower end, Guwahati recorded the lowest pass percentage at 85.32%, indicating a noticeable regional performance gap.

School-wise data highlights the dominance of centrally managed institutions. Kendriya Vidyalayas achieved the highest pass percentage of 99.57%, followed closely by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at 99.42%. Private schools recorded 93.77%, while government schools and government-aided schools registered 91.43% and 91.01% respectively. These results indicate that centrally administered schools continue to perform better overall compared to other categories.
CBSE-affiliated schools abroad have also delivered excellent results with a pass percentage of 99.10%, improving from last year’s 98.57%. This reflects consistent academic standards across global CBSE institutions.
In terms of academic excellence, 8.96% of students scored above 90%, while 2.24% scored above 95%, highlighting a strong group of high achievers in this year’s board exams.
Students under the Children With Special Needs category performed commendably. Out of 9,443 students who appeared, 9,088 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 96.24%. Additionally, 452 students scored above 90%, while 91 students crossed the 95% mark, reflecting inclusive and supportive evaluation practices.
Overall, the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 reflects a stable and balanced academic outcome. The slight improvement in pass percentage, strong performance by girls, excellent results from KV and JNV schools, and high international pass rates highlight the consistency of the CBSE evaluation system. While regional variations exist, the overall trend remains positive, indicating steady academic progress among students nationwide.
