The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has unveiled 'Kaveri,' a new English textbook for Class 9 students. It aims to incorporate more works by Indian authors and elements from Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into the curriculum. 'Kaveri' replaces the 'Beehive' and 'Moments’, in the English language for class 9 students. Students can learn about the Indian and International authors without facing any content burden in the English subject. Kaveri has been introduced as per the latest educational guidelines of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. The focus is on the culturally relevant learning experience.
NCERT has decided to bring some changes in the class 9 English curriculum by introducing Kaveri as the textbook. Beehive and Moments were the older textbooks to be replaced soon in the 2025-26 session for the class 9 students. Students should not feel any burden in the learning journey. They can know about the literature of the Indian and International authors.
