The cutoff marks for the DSSSB MTS exam do not stay the same every year. They change based on several important factors. These factors are decided by the Board when they calculate the final scores of all the candidates.
Number of Vacancies (Job Openings): If the total number of jobs available (vacancies) is small, the competition becomes very high. In this case, the cut-off marks will go up. If there are many job openings, the cut-off may be lower.
Number of Candidates Appearing: If a large number of candidates apply for the exam, the cut-off is likely to increase. More candidates mean more competition, so the Board selects candidates with higher scores.
Difficulty Level of the Exam: If the question paper is very difficult, most candidates will score low marks. This will cause the final cut-off mark to drop. If the paper is easy, candidates score high, and the cut-off mark rises.
Category of the Candidate: The cut-off marks are always different for different candidate categories (General, OBC, SC, ST). Reserved category candidates have lower cut-off marks than the General category candidates, as per government rules.
