Every year, thousands of SSC CHSL aspirants begin their preparation with hope. Yet many struggle with common problems, like a lack of guidance, financial pressure, inconsistency, self-doubt and repeated score fluctuations in mock tests. Some start strong but lose momentum midway. Others prepare hard but do not see improvement.
Sonu Kumar faced these very challenges along with personal loss and family responsibility. What made the difference was not just hard work, but preparation and consistent guidance. Physics Wallah provided him with organised subject coverage, accessible learning, mock practice and clarity in strategy. With the right support system in place, his effort turned into AIR 1855.
Sonu’s journey began with deep personal loss. At a very young age, he lost his mother. Years later, during one of the most important phases of his education, he lost his father, too.
“Meri maa jab hum saat aath saal ke the tabhi guzar gayi, phir papa bhi 2021 mein 12th ke time guzar gaye.”
“Mere family poora hum hi par depend tha… papa ka bhi sapna tha ki mera beta zaroor sarkari naukri lega.”
This was not just emotional pain. It was a turning point. Suddenly, he was not preparing only for himself. Responsibility replaced fear. Instead of feeling defeated, he chose to move forward.
“Jab zimmedari aati hai na, toh wo person kuch bhi kar sakta hai.”
For him, responsibility became fuel. It gave his preparation meaning.
But Sonu still faced doubts from people around him. Financial limitations made others question whether he could even continue preparing.
“Humko bolta bhi tha sab koi ki itna paisa toh bilkul hai hi nahi, toh kahaan se kar paayega.:
“Toh bole ki paisa zaroori thodi hai na, padhai karenge toh zaroor ho hi jayega.”
This mindset shows strength. Instead of focusing on what he lacked, he focused on what he could control: effort.
Accessible and guided preparation through Physics Wallah allowed him to keep studying without feeling financially burdened. Quality education became within reach.
Coming from a rural background where government selections were rare, Sonu’s success carried a deeper meaning. In his area, cracking competitive examinations was not common. Very few students had made it to prestigious posts.
“Bagal wale gaon ka hi sirf ek laga, baaki kisi ka nahi laga, uske baad mera CHSL mein laga.”
This statement reflects the reality of his surroundings, limited exposure, limited examples of success, and very few role models. In such an environment, preparing for the SSC CHSL itself requires courage.
He also mentioned how someone from his village had earlier secured a remarkable rank:
“Hum log gaon se bhi 2022 mein All India 32 laaye, wo bhi Preventive Officer liye hain.”
For Sonu, such examples were not comparisons but motivation. They proved that background does not limit potential. If someone from a nearby village could do it, so could he.
With dedicated preparation and consistent guidance from Physics Wallah, he turned that belief into his own success, securing AIR 1855 in SSC CHSL 2024.
His selection did more than change his life. It strengthened the belief in his community that disciplined preparation, the right platform, and consistent effort can bridge any gap, even from a small village to a national rank.
Consistency was not just a habit in Sonu’s journey; it was his biggest strength. Instead of constantly switching platforms, books or teachers, he chose to stay committed to one system. That stability gave his preparation direction and depth.
“Hum Physics Wallah se shuru se hi jude hue hain.”
This long-term association with Physics Wallah allowed him to build concepts gradually and with clarity. There was no confusion, no scattered strategy, just steady progress.
Rather than studying randomly, he covered each subject in a planned and systematic way through PW:
“Yahaan se current affairs ho gaya, maths ho gaya, reasoning ho gaya.”
PW was not just a place for lectures. It became a complete preparation ecosystem for him, from concept-building to revision, from practice to confidence-building.
“Mere liye GS sabse tough tha… lekin PW ke notes aur current affairs se improve hua.”
Because the PW notes were short and easy to revise, he could go through them again and again. Daily current affairs helped him remember facts better. Over time, his fear of GS reduced, and his accuracy increased.
His preparation through PW was not limited to SSC CHSL alone. The same conceptual strength helped him perform well in other examinations too:
“Aur abhi science ka series chal raha tha, wo bhi kiye the Technician ke liye. Technician mein bhi mera 77.7 marks hai.”
This clearly shows that when learning is concept-driven, it creates results beyond a single exam. Through Physics Wallah’s consistent guidance and comprehensive resources, Sonu built a foundation strong enough to succeed across multiple competitive platforms.
Sonu’s preparation was not built on shortcuts or sudden bursts of motivation. It was grounded in three powerful pillars: belief, continuity and discipline. What made his journey different was not complexity, but clarity.
“Vishwas sabse badi baat hoti hai.”
For Sonu, belief was the foundation. There were phases of pressure, setbacks and uncertainty. But his trust in his preparation, his teachers, and in Physics Wallah kept him steady. This belief prevented distraction and self-doubt from taking over.
“Jahaan se bhi padhna hai, but continue rehna hai.”
He strongly believed that switching platforms repeatedly weakens focus. Once he chose his source of guidance, he stayed committed. That continuity ensured that his concepts strengthened layer by layer instead of restarting from scratch.
“Routine toh rakhna hi padega, nahi toh nahi ho payega.”
Sonu clearly understood that success in SSC CHSL does not depend on emotional motivation alone. It depends on daily routine: fixed study hours, regular revision, and consistent practice. Discipline replaced randomness.
Improvement in scores came from serious practice. Mock tests were not optional for him. They were essential.
“Mock test toh bahut zyada important hota hai.”
“2022 mein lagbhag pre ke liye hum 200-300 mock test diye honge.”
He did not stop at a few attempts. Attempting 200–300 mock tests built speed, reduced fear and improved accuracy.
Over time, he noticed a shift in confidence:
“200 mock test dene ke baad mujhe lagta hai ki kam se kam 30-40 par paper toh bas iska B aur iska C aur iska D ho jaata hai.”
This shows how repetition creates familiarity. The exam pattern started feeling predictable.
He summarised his improvement formula clearly:
“Do hi cheez rehta hai important – revision aur mock test.”
“Teacher par believe karo.”
“Revision aur mock test dono saath chalao.”
“Routine banana sabse zaroori hai.”
Revision strengthened what he learnt in PW classes. Mock tests sharpened the application.
After starting PW mock tests, he understood how to manage time and choose the right questions.
“Mocks dene se samajh aaya ki paper ko attempt kaise karna hai.”
Through mock analysis, he learned to eliminate wrong options instead of guessing. Slowly, his mistakes reduced, and his accuracy improved. With repeated mock practice, the exam started feeling familiar and less stressful.
For Sonu, AIR 1855 was not the final destination. It was a milestone. His journey reflects a mindset where one success becomes the foundation for the next, bigger goal.
“Mera CGL se Preventive Officer hai.”
This statement is not just a preference for a post; it shows clarity of vision. Sonu knows exactly what he wants next. His target is defined, and his preparation is aligned with that goal.
“Main CHSL ke baad CGL ko crack karunga aur rank ke saath crack karunga.”
This confidence does not come from overconfidence. It comes from experience: years of disciplined preparation, mock practice, setbacks and guidance through Physics Wallah. Having already built strong fundamentals across Maths, Reasoning, GS and Current Affairs, he understands the syllabus depth and exam pattern.
His journey offers powerful lessons for every SSC aspirant. Responsibility, when accepted with courage, can become a source of strength. Financial limitations do not decide destiny, but discipline and direction do. With Physics Wallah, he was able to convert effort into achievement. His story stands as proof that when belief is backed by routine and the right mentorship, even the toughest competitive exams can be conquered.
