SSC GD Final Result 2025: How Chinmay Turned Two Setbacks into a CISF Selection with PW

For Chinmay, the SSC GD 2025 result was the outcome of a preparation journey shaped by repeated attempts, self-analysis, and a willingness to improve. His first attempt did not clear the written stage, while the second attempt also did not bring the desired result. Instead of stopping there, he worked on the areas where he was losing marks, particularly mock-test performance and running preparation.

Eventually, his third attempt resulted in selection for the CISF post, with a score of 135 out of 160. His experience also highlights how preparation can continue at home, provided the aspirant follows a focused routine and consistently analyses mistakes.

Chinmay’s SSC GD Journey Began with Two Setbacks

Before securing his selection, Chinmay had already appeared for SSC GD twice. His first attempt was particularly disappointing because he could not qualify for the written stage despite believing that he knew the questions.

“Main bhi jab preparation start kara tha, us time matlab mujhe lagta tha ki har question mujhse ho jayega. Matlab exam mein baithte hi mera... mera ye mera teesra attempt hai. Pehla aur doosra... doosre attempt mein pehla attempt mein main written hi qualify nahi kar paa raha tha.”

His first mock-test score had also been far from where he wanted it to be.

“Pehla mock test mein mera number tha 160 mein se 63 tha aur mujhe dekhkar bhi aise lagta tha ki mera to ho jaana chahiye tha.”

The gap between what he thought he knew and how he actually performed made him realise that knowing the questions was not enough. He needed to work on how he approached the exam.

Chinmay Changed His Approach Through Mock-Test Analysis

Instead of simply attempting more mocks, Chinmay started analysing them. He looked at where he was making mistakes and which subjects needed more attention.

“Agli baar maine jo prepare start kara, mock test diya aur uska analysis kiya, phir dheere-dheere mera score jo hai wo badhta gaya.”

He also tracked his performance across subjects and tried to understand exactly where he was losing marks.

“Kahan se main galti kar raha hoon. GK mein kitna theek ho raha hai, kitna galti ho rahi hai aur kahan galti ho rahi hai, isko seekhna padega, ma’am.”

This shift from merely taking tests to analysing them became an important part of his preparation. Over time, the process helped him improve his score, understand his weak areas and become more comfortable with the pressure of the actual examination.

Chinmay Used PW Batches Alongside His Self-Study

As his preparation progressed, Chinmay also incorporated PW’s structured classes into his routine. He joined the Prarambh batch and later the SSC CGL Surya batch.

“Maine Prarambh batch liya tha ma’am. Uske baad Prarambh batch ke baad SSC CGL Surya batch bhi liya tha.”

He mentioned using the classes along with his independent preparation. The batches were not treated as a replacement for practice; instead, his preparation combined classes, books, practice sets, and mock tests.

For Chinmay, this combination allowed him to follow a structured routine while continuing to work on his own weak areas. His preparation ultimately remained a mix of PW classes and consistent self-study rather than depending on any single resource.

Chinmay Focused on Completing a Topic Before Moving Ahead

Chinmay followed a focused approach while studying. Rather than dividing his attention between several subjects at once, he preferred completing a chapter properly before moving to another one.

“Main ma’am jab main padhai karne baithta hoon to mujhe ek hi subject mein matlab satisfaction milna chahiye. Matlab ek hi chapter uthaya to usko khatm karke hi uthna hai.”

For GK, he attended the relevant classes and also referred to Lucent when he wanted additional study. For Mathematics, he followed the maths book he mentioned during the interview.

His approach was simple: moving through a large number of pages was less important than gaining sufficient command over the topic.

Chinmay Built His Maths Preparation Around Concepts and Practice

Mathematics was another area where Chinmay emphasised building the basics before moving towards practice. He mentioned topics such as percentage, profit and loss, compound interest, simple interest and time and work.

“Pehle aapko concept clear karna hai... percentage aur profit loss aur compound interest, simple interest, time work... ismein se thoda aapko complete pehle karna hai concept. Uske baad aap practice set ki taraf ja sakte ho.”

Once the concepts were clear, he recommended moving towards practice sets. He also stressed that mocks should not be taken simply for the sake of increasing their number.

According to his approach, the important part comes after the test: understanding mistakes, noting them, and ensuring they are not repeated in the next attempt.

Chinmay Followed a Structured Daily Routine

His preparation also included a fixed daily routine. He would begin his day early with running and physical training before starting his academic preparation.

“Pehle to main subah jab uthta tha, 5:00 baje uthkar pehle running vagairah clear karke PT karke aa ke baithta hoon.”

After that, he attended the current affairs class and spent around two hours on Mathematics practice. He gave about an hour to Reasoning and another hour to Hindi. He also attended the GK/GS class and used additional books when required.

His schedule was not based on giving every subject the same amount of time. Instead, he adjusted the time according to the demands of each subject and his own preparation level.

Chinmay Prepared for SSC GD from Home

For many aspirants, studying in a library can feel like an essential part of exam preparation. Chinmay’s experience was different. Since he lived in a village where libraries were not easily accessible, he prepared from home.

“Isliye hum library nahi, yahin ghar pe hi padhai karte the. Ghar pe bas door darwaza band karke apne ko alag kar dete hain.”

He followed his timetable and stayed focused until the planned work was completed.

“Isliye hum ghar pe hi rehkar padhai karte the. Ghar pe rehkar bhi selection ho sakta hai.”

His experience shows that a particular study location is not what determines preparation. For him, maintaining focus and completing the planned work mattered more than having access to a library.

Chinmay’s Current Affairs Preparation Was a Daily Practice

Chinmay also included current affairs in his regular routine. Instead of trying to cover everything at once, he followed the daily current affairs classes and maintained his own notes.

“Current affair maine abhi ek note hi banaya hai... aur matlab har din padhna hai.”

He also pointed out that simply looking at current affairs for a limited period may not be enough. Questions can be framed differently, making it important to understand the information rather than relying only on memorised one-liners.

For his preparation, consistency was therefore important, especially for a subject that requires regular revision.

Chinmay Used His Past Failures as Motivation

The first two attempts were not easy emotionally. Along with his own disappointment, Chinmay had to deal with comments and taunts from people around him.

“Mujhe bhi bahut guilty feel hua tha lekin logon ki taane ne mujhe bahut pareshaan karke rakhe the ki aisa to iska to kuch bhi paper nahi niklega, nahi to kuch nahi kar paayega.”

Instead of allowing those comments to stop his preparation, he used them as motivation to make his next attempt count.

“Is baar nahi hua to kya hua, matlab aisa number laana hai ki koi sa bhi post ho bas leke jaana hai.”

His third attempt brought the result he had been working towards: 135 marks out of 160 and selection in CISF.

Chinmay’s Message to Aspirants: Losing Is Not the End

Looking back at his journey, Chinmay believes that an unsuccessful attempt should not automatically be treated as failure. He had also experienced disappointment and self-doubt, but continued preparing after identifying where he needed to improve.

“Jab aap haarne lagte ho ye mat socho ki aap haar gaye ho. Uske baad bhi aap lad sakte ho. Lado dam tak lado.”

His SSC GD 2025 journey is therefore less about one successful exam attempt and more about the changes he made after his earlier setbacks. From a 63/160 mock-test score to a 135/160 final score, Chinmay’s preparation evolved through analysis, practice, structured study and persistence.

For aspirants preparing for SSC GD and other SSC examinations, his experience offers a realistic takeaway: an unsuccessful attempt can point towards what needs to change. With consistent practice, careful mock-test analysis, focused study and the right learning support, including PW’s batches, those lessons can become part of the next, stronger attempt.
