From CGDA Auditor to a Second SSC CGL Selection: Ishan Trivedi’s Journey with Physics Wallah

Preparing for SSC CGL while working can make it difficult to balance professional responsibilities with classes, revision, and regular practice. Without a clear approach, managing preparation alongside a full-time job can become challenging.

For Ishan Trivedi, having already secured the CGDA Auditor post, the next step was to prepare for SSC CGL again while continuing his job at PCDA Prayagraj. He turned to Physics Wallah to streamline his preparation, follow a focused study approach, and work towards another selection.

Starting SSC CGL Preparation with a Clear Strategy

When the SSC CGL 2024 notification was released, Ishan saw the opportunity and decided to prepare seriously. Although he already had a strong academic background in subjects such as Mathematics, English and General Studies, he wanted to understand how SSC CGL preparation worked and streamline his approach.

“Toh maine 2024 July se hi PW ka batch liya tha. Toh sab kuch streamline karne ke liye, kyunki mujhe SSC ke baare mein kuch bhi nahi pata tha.”

He then focused on Mathematics and spent around one and a half to two months preparing intensively before moving ahead with the examination stages.

“Phir maine dedh-do mahine bahut achhe se padhai ki ki main ek level tak pahunch jaaun ki mera selection pakka ho jaaye.”

His preparation eventually helped him clear the earlier exam, after which he secured the CGDA Auditor post with an UR rank of 3410.

How Ishan Planned His SSC CGL Preparation

Rather than measuring preparation only by the number of hours studied, Ishan focused on completing the topics he had planned. This approach helped him manage preparation alongside his job and other responsibilities.

“Mera ye tareeka tha ki maine agar topic uthaya hai, main schedule bana leta tha, aaj mujhe ye topic khatam karna hai, toh mujhe topic khatam karna hai. ”

For revision, he followed a weekly cycle:

“Main aisa weekly rakhta tha ki Monday to Saturday padhna hai, Sunday revise karna hai.”

This allowed him to stay connected with previously covered topics while continuing with new chapters during the week.

How Physics Wallah Helped Ishan Keep His Preparation Focused

Ishan joined a PW Crash Course Batch, which became the main learning source he followed for his SSC CGL preparation. Since he was already familiar with some subjects but wanted to understand the SSC CGL-specific approach, the batch helped him bring his preparation into one focused process.

Talking about the batch, he shared:

“Crash course ka batch tha, most likely Sir 2.0.”

He also found the classes useful because the subjects and question types were covered in detail:

“Saare subjects padhaye gaye the. Crash course naam ka tha sir, sab kuch detail mein padhaya gaya tha basically.”

Ishan then followed a simple cycle of learning through lectures, making notes and practising through DPPs:

“Main directly lecture karta tha, lecture ke notes banata tha, uske baad DPP jo practice rehti thi, woh lagata tha.”

This approach also reflected his belief that using too many resources can make preparation confusing. He explained:

“Ek source ko stick karte ho aur usi pe poora trust karke poore process ko follow karte ho, toh selection utna difficult nahi rehta.”

By keeping his learning, practice and PYQ preparation connected to one source, Ishan was able to maintain a focused preparation process while continuing his job.
