Sahil Sharma from Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, secured selection in SSC GD 2025 after preparing with PW. His preparation started with the Vishwas batch in 2024, where he built his basic concepts before continuing with PW’s Mahapack, crash course, and mock tests.
His journey also had an unexpected setback when he missed his previous SSC GD exam by around 10 minutes. Instead of letting that experience stop his preparation, Sahil used the additional time to continue studying and practising until he eventually secured his selection.
Sahil first joined PW in early 2024 and enrolled in the Vishwas batch. He studied through the batch for around 50–55 days and built his basic understanding of the SSC GD syllabus.
However, he could not appear for that year's exam because he was unable to reach the examination centre on time.
“So us waqt jo mera exam tha, us waqt main absent ho gaya tha, matlab main traffic ki wajah se nahi pahunch paaya tha exam mein. So uski, uske baad to phir pura year pada tha mere paas taiyaari karne ke liye. To basic mera strong tha, uske baad maine aapka SSC Mahapack liya, ki do saal ke liye liya maine wo, to uske baad main mock test deta raha aur padhta raha usi batch mein sir.”
Rather than starting over completely, Sahil used the strong basics he had developed through the Vishwas batch and continued his preparation with the SSC Mahapack. The extra time gave him an opportunity to practise more and remain engaged with his preparation.
After completing his initial preparation, Sahil continued using PW resources for practice. He also took the SSC GD crash course, where he worked through a large set of MCQs.
“mera basic to usi ka clear ho gaya tha — first batch jo maine liya tha na, aapka GD ka hi liya tha, uske baad maine crash course liya tha aapka, hum usme MCQ karwaaye the 4000 question ka raha wo hum...”
The combination of the Vishwas batch, Mahapack, and crash course gave Sahil a structured way to continue studying after his first missed attempt. He also remained focused on competitive exams after completing college instead of moving away from his preparation.
For Sahil, mock tests became one of the most consistent parts of his preparation. He attempted mocks across different platforms to practise his speed, accuracy, and exam readiness.
His approach was not limited to taking tests on one platform. By attempting around 200 mock tests, Sahil repeatedly practised the exam format and assessed his performance.
He also recommended that aspirants keep their state-wise previous-year cutoff in mind and use it as a preparation target.
“Ma'am jo bhi ladka hai jo taiyaari kar raha hai usko apni state ka cutoff dekhna chahiye — hum previous year cutoff kya tha to usi score ko target karke usko taiyaari karte rehna chahiye, jab tak wo score wo achieve na kar paaye usko matlab mehnat nahi chhodni chahiye.”
This gave his preparation a measurable goal. Instead of stopping after completing the syllabus, he continued practising until his mock performance reached the score he was targeting.
Sahil’s SSC GD journey shows how a setback can become an opportunity to prepare better. After missing his earlier exam, he continued with PW’s resources, strengthened his basics, practised MCQs through the crash course, and made mock tests a regular part of his preparation.
His selection in SSC GD 2025 eventually confirmed the effort he had put in. For Sahil, the key takeaway for other aspirants is simple: understand your target score, keep practising, and do not stop preparing because of one setback.
Sahil’s journey from missing an earlier SSC GD exam to securing selection in SSC GD 2025 highlights the value of staying consistent after a setback. His experience with PW’s batches, practice resources, and extensive mock-test preparation can encourage aspirants to keep working towards their target instead of giving up.
