To avoid errors before the SSC CGL apply online deadline, follow this How to Apply for SSC CGL carefully.
If you are a new candidate on the upgraded official SSC website, you must finish the One-Time Registration process.
Go to the official website: ssc.gov.in.
Click on the 'Login or Register' button and select 'Register Now'.
Enter primary particulars (Aadhaar number, name, father's name, date of birth, and matriculation details).
Verify your mobile number and email ID using OTPs.
Note down your unique Registration Number and Password generated by the portal.
Log in to your dashboard using your OTR credentials.
Look for the "Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026" tab under active applications and click 'Apply'.
Enter your educational qualifications, select your preferred exam centres (up to 3 preferences), and specify category preferences if claiming reservation benefits.
Live Photograph: The new SSC system requires a live webcam photograph capture rather than uploading a pre-saved, scanned passport photo. Ensure you sit in a well-lit room with a plain background.
Signature: Scan and upload your signature in JPG/JPEG format (typically between 10 to 20 KB). Ensure it is clear and unblurred.
Pay the mandatory fee of Rs. 100 using digital payment modes (Net Banking, UPI, BHIM, or Credit/Debit Cards).
Exemption Note: Women candidates and applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the registration fee.
SSC CGL registration closes on June 22, 2026, and candidates should keep in mind that the deadline is 11:00 PM (23:00 hours), not midnight. After the form submission closes, SSC also gives an extra day to complete the fee payment. The last date to pay the application fee online is June 23, 2026 (till 11:00 PM).
SSC clearly warns candidates about last-minute technical problems. Applying on the final day can often lead to:
Server Downtime: Heavy virtual traffic from millions of simultaneous users can crash or slow down the portal.
Payment Failures: Bank gateways often face communication issues during peak traffic hours, causing your transaction to get stuck in limbo.
Document Upload Glitches: High server loads can impede your photograph and signature uploads, resulting in a rejected or incomplete form status.
In case you commit a minor typographical error while filling out the details before the SSC CGL application form last date, the commission provides a redemption window. The correction window opens from June 29 to July 1, 2026.
During this span, candidates can modify their parameters after paying a uniform correction fee. However, it is highly recommended to double-check details in the initial stage itself to avoid extra expenditures and anxiety.
