SSC GD 2025 Success Story: Ajay Gila’s Journey to All India Rank 18 With PW

At 19, Rajasthan’s Ajay Gila secured All India Rank 18 in SSC GD 2025 on his first attempt. He prepared through a disciplined night-study routine, handwritten notes, and PW marathon classes. His journey raises a key question: how did he manage speed and accuracy in a 60-minute exam?

Rohit Kumar’s SSC GD Success Story

Preparing for SSC GD while managing college, limited exam experience, and the pressure of solving 80 questions in 60 minutes was a major challenge for Ajay Gila at the age of 19. With only two SSC exams under his belt, he needed to improve his speed, stay consistent, and follow a focused study routine.

Ajay tackled these challenges by creating a disciplined study schedule, staying away from social media, making handwritten notes, and practising regularly. PW’s marathon classes helped him learn shorter solving methods and improve his speed, particularly in Maths. This approach helped Ajay secure All India Rank 18 in SSC GD 2025 on his first attempt.

Ajay Gila Started His SSC Journey With a Focused Routine

SSC GD was the very first SSC exam Ajay ever attempted — apart from this, he had only filled one other SSC form, for CHSL. Once he filled the GD form, he had a fixed window before him to plan everything.

“Sir, form bharne ke baad exam ke liye hamare paas paanch mahine the… pehle teen mahine mein jitna ho saka, syllabus cover kiya… aur last ke ek mahine mein marathon classes li aur mock tests vagairah diye,”

This one answer shows how methodical Ajay was from day one — he didn't try to do everything at once. He broke five months into three clear phases: covering the syllabus, revising it, and then testing himself. That last phase, built around marathon classes and mocks, is where the real exam-day pressure would soon test him.

Ajay Gila Managed Exam Pressure With a Disciplined Schedule

Having a plan was one thing — executing it against a tough exam pattern was another. GD's biggest challenge showed up in its format: 80 questions in just 60 minutes.

“Sir, bahut issue hua tha. GD mein 60 minutes ke andar 80 sawaal karna us time bahut badi baat hoti hai,”

This time crunch meant Ajay couldn't just study — he had to build speed too, which is exactly why mock tests became so important in his last month.

Staying focused for five months also meant cutting out distractions completely and flipping his entire routine.

“Sir, maine apne exam ki jab se taiyari ki thi, social media se poori doori bana li… aur baad mein mera padhne ka schedule badhiya tha ki main raat ko 8:00 baje baithta tha… phir subah 6:00 baje tak, 5:00 baje tak, jab tak ghar wale uthte the, tab tak padhta rehta tha,”

Studying through the night and sleeping in the day wasn't the easiest routine, but it shows how far Ajay was willing to go to protect his study time. Cutting out social media and flipping his sleep cycle weren't small changes — they were the discipline that made the rest of his preparation possible.

Ajay Gila Used PW Marathon Classes to Improve Speed

Alongside his own discipline, two things carried Ajay through — structured learning and a family that gave him space to focus.

On the study side, he relied on handwritten notes over just watching videos:

“Maine maximum notes banaye the, zyada se zyada apne haath se jitna ho sake utna.”

He also confirmed using the Physics Wallah platform, especially for the final marathon classes:

“Haan sir, aapke platform se li thi.”

Maths, his favourite subject, is where those marathon sessions helped the most in cutting down his solving time:

“Bahut zyada sir, matlab aapki jo marathon thi, usmein aap short trick se karate the. Agar mera koi method lamba ja raha tha, toh aapka dekh ke usko chhota karne ki try karta tha.”

Shortening long methods into faster tricks meant he could actually attempt more of those 80 questions within the 60-minute limit.

None of this would have been possible without his family stepping back and letting him study.

“Mera support meri poori family ne bahut badhiya saath diya tha… mujhe chaar mahine tak aaram se padh sakta hoon. Koi family se matlab nahi hai ki aapko ye kaam karna hi padega, padhai thodi der ke liye chhodo—woh nahi tha,”

With no pressure to step away from studies, and short-trick methods from PW's marathon classes speeding up his Maths, Ajay could commit fully to his routine for the entire preparation period. All that was left now was to see how it would actually play out on result day.

Ajay Gila Saw His Rank 18 Result as a Moment of Surprise

The SSC GD result was declared around 9:20–9:30 PM the night before. Ajay had a rough idea from a Telegram group that his rank might be good, but he wasn't fully sure until he checked himself.

“Woh khushi sir, us time alag hi thi. Uske baad se poori raat neend hi nahi aayi.

he said, describing the moment he saw AIR 18. His family was overjoyed too — they had expected he would clear the exam, but the rank itself added extra happiness:

“Ghar wale bhi bahut khush the. Unko bhi matlab pata tha selection toh hoga, par woh rank dekh ke unko bhi thodi khushi zyada ho gayi.”

With SSC GD now cleared at AIR 18, Ajay isn't stopping. He has also appeared for SSC CHSL, where results were still awaited at the time of this conversation, but his raw score stands at 172:

“Goal toh sir CGL hai. Abhi toh matlab 12th level ka hoon, toh isliye woh CHSL ka form lagaya hua hai… usmein abhi result nahi aaya, par woh raw marks 172 hain.”

His long-term target is SSC CGL, once he becomes eligible after graduation.

AIR 18 turned out to be just the first milestone, not the finish line. With a strong CHSL score already in hand and CGL as the next big target, Ajay's preparation habits look set to carry him through more than one exam.

A Message for Every Aspirant

Ajay closed with simple advice for those preparing for SSC GD 2026:

“Sabhi jo GD 2026 ki taiyari kar rahe hain unko best of luck bolna chahta hoon. Badhiya se padho bas.”

Ajay's story is about a 19-year-old who turned reversed nights, handwritten notes, and five focused months into a government job — while his father kept driving trucks across three states, hoping for exactly this outcome. For any SSC aspirant juggling limited time and self-doubt, Ajay's journey is proof that a clear routine, distraction-free preparation, and consistent mock practice can turn a first attempt into a top rank.

Ajay Gila’s SSC GD 2025 journey shows how a focused routine, regular practice, handwritten revision notes, and efficient question-solving methods can make a difference, even on a first attempt. His experience also highlights the value of learning to manage exam speed rather than relying only on completing the syllabus.

For aspirants preparing for SSC GD or similar exams, Ajay’s journey offers a practical reminder that consistent preparation and disciplined execution can gradually turn a difficult target into a realistic one.
