For many SSC GD aspirants, choosing the right path after Class 12 can be challenging, especially when financial circumstances limit their options. After completing Class 12 in his village, Jitendra explored SSC GD and police-related examinations, which he felt offered a possibility of achieving success in less time.
Jitendra began preparing from home through Physics Wallah’s YouTube resources and playlists. He also regularly attempted mock tests to improve his preparation. His journey became even more difficult when his father passed away shortly before his physical test, putting him in a challenging situation as the elder son of his family.
After completing Class 12 in his village, Jitendra explored his options for further studies and employment. Due to his circumstances, he focused on examinations where he felt he could achieve success in a shorter period, including SSC GD and police-related examinations.
He came across Physics Wallah through social media and started using its YouTube resources for preparation. He explained:
“Social media ke jariye dekha matlab aage kya karna chahiye 12th ke baad... short term mein dekha jaye to SSC GD hui ya police hua Delhi Police hua ye possibility zyada lagti thi... isiliye kuch Physics Wallah se wahan se hum source wagairah nikale tab humein wahan se kuch playlists ke madhyam se ghar pe hi padhai ki.”
Jitendra followed a disciplined routine during his preparation. According to him, he studied for around 12 to 13 hours a day and regularly attempted mock tests.
Jitendra’s preparation became particularly difficult when his father passed away shortly before his physical test. His father passed away on August 2, while his physical test was scheduled for August 23.
As the elder son in the family, Jitendra also had responsibilities towards his family and younger brother. Recalling that period, he said:
“Ek baar to aisa lag raha tha ki ab physical wagairah sab chhod hi du kaam pe chala jaaun, kyunki ghar ki zimmedariyan aur nervous matlab kuch galat bhav bhi aane lag gaye man mein ki aisa kar lete hain. Ab to kuch zindagi mein basa hi nahi hai.”
Despite the difficult circumstances, he returned to his preparation and appeared for the physical test. His journey then continued through the medical stage and the final result.
Physics Wallah’s YouTube resources became part of Jitendra’s preparation, particularly because they allowed him to study from home. He used playlists available on the platform and combined them with regular practice.
Mock tests also played an important role in his preparation. Jitendra said:
“Mock mein kya hai ma’am? Humein pata chalta hai ki hum kis matlab kis subject mein kahan peeche hain. Kaun sa subject humein matlab kahan pe preparation kam ho rahi hai. Kahan galtiyan ho rahi hain. Kahan pe sudhar karna hai?”
For Jitendra, mock tests were not simply about attempting questions. He used them to identify weaker areas, understand mistakes, and decide where he needed to invest more preparation time.
During the interview, the availability of subject-wise tests, full-length tests, test series, and mocks on the Physics Wallah platform was also discussed as part of the preparation support available to SSC aspirants.
Jitendra received the SSC GD 2025 result while he was at home. He recalled that the result was announced around 10 PM and that a friend called him to inform him that the result had been released.
When he checked the result, he found that he had been selected for BSF.
He later shared the significance of Physics Wallah in his journey:
“Physics Wallah main dekha jaye to mere liye ek matlab pitaji ka doosra roop hi dekha jaye na Bhagwan ke roop mein dekhta hoon main Physics Wallah kyunki meri inhi teachers ki shiksha aur margdarshan ke anuroop ye mujhe safalta mili hai.”
His selection also brought an emotional response from his mother, who became emotional after hearing the result, especially because of the family’s circumstances before his physical test.
Jitendra believes that SSC GD preparation is not limited to students who consider themselves highly intelligent. According to him, consistent effort, timely guidance, and proper preparation can help candidates progress towards their goals.
His advice to juniors was:
“Mera junior bas itna sa hi message hai ki aapko kitna bhi zindagi mein bura din aa jaye na shayad mere se jyada to yahi hota hai dekha jaye to bura din kitna bhi aa jaye na aap ghabraye nahi apne mansik santulan ko sthir bana ke aaram se soch samajh ke badhiya institute Physics Wallah se jud ke aaram se aap preparation kijiye aapko safalta ek din zaroor milegi.”
He also emphasised the importance of effort over luck:
“Nahi ma’am kismat pe koi bharosa mat rakho. Aap apni mehnat pe bharosa rakho. Aap mehnat karte jao. Aapki kismat zaroor saath degi. Aap nirantar mehnat karoge to safalta ek din ek din zaroor milegi.”
For students who find a particular subject difficult, Jitendra suggested giving that subject more time, attempting dedicated mock tests and analysing performance to identify areas that need improvement.
Jitendra’s story shows that preparation can continue even when circumstances become difficult. His SSC GD 2025 selection in BSF came after sustained study, mock-test practice and perseverance through a challenging phase of his life. For aspirants preparing for SSC GD, his experience offers a practical reminder to focus on regular preparation, analyse mistakes and keep moving towards the goal.
