SSC Important Notice For PwD/ PwBD Candidates: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an important update for PwD and PwBD candidates appearing for upcoming SSC exams. SSC's important notice for PwD/ PwBD candidates highlights major changes in the rules of scribe use, verification, and exam centre accessibility.
This decision has been taken to make exams more fair and transparent for every candidate. Now, PwBD candidates will not be allowed to bring their own scribes.

The commission itself will provide scribes. SSC has also made it mandatory to carry the original disability certificate if any candidate wishes to use scribe services or get compensatory time. These steps will ensure fair practice and equal opportunity for all candidates.
SSC Important Notice For PwD/ PwBD Candidates concerned candidates should get a scribe two to three years of low academic qualifications for those appearing in the paper. Any candidate appearing for the CGL graduate paper will get a 12th-pass-out scribe for the exam. The purpose is to bring fairness in conducting the SSC recruitment exams.
PwD candidates can use a scribe, reader, or lab assistant if they cannot use technology.
Candidates with blindness, cerebral palsy, or both-arm locomotor disability can get this help by showing a valid disability certificate or UDID card.
Candidates with other disabilities must show a valid medical certificate.
The exam authority will prepare a list of scribes for candidates.
In special cases, candidates can bring their own scribe, but they must give the scribe’s details in the prescribed format.
Scribe details should be given during the application. If not possible, exam bodies will provide an email ID or portal link to submit details within 15 days after application closing.
In emergencies, candidates may change their scribe even at short notice, about a week before the exam.
SSC Important Notice For PwD/ PwBD Candidates
According to the SSC PwBD verification rules, only those candidates who have proper and valid disability certificates will be allowed to use exam relaxations. The certificate must be issued by a recognised medical authority.
The SSC has clearly said that original certificates will be checked at the exam centre before giving any facility like extra time or scribe. If the candidate does not carry the original certificate, he or she will not be allowed to use the facilities. This step has been taken to stop the misuse of PwBD benefits by candidates who are not eligible.
All candidates who want to claim PwBD benefits must ensure that their certificates are correct, valid, and issued by an authorised government hospital or medical authority. SSC will strictly follow this verification rule at all exam centres.

The biggest update in the SSC's important notice for PwD/ PwBD candidates is about scribe services. Earlier, PwBD candidates were allowed to bring their own scribes for SSC exams. SSC will itself provide scribes to candidates who are eligible. This change has been introduced to make sure there is no unfair advantage for any candidate. The scribe will be selected by SSC and provided at the exam centre.
This will also reduce the chance of malpractice during exams. Candidates with writing difficulties or low vision will get help through this facility. Apart from this, SSC has also said that PwBD candidates will get extra time.
The rule allows 20 minutes of additional time per hour of exam for candidates using scribes or assistive technology. These steps have been taken so that every PwBD candidate can attempt the exam without pressure and with equal opportunity.
One of the most important parts of the SSC's important notice for PwD/ PwBD candidates is the requirement for the original disability certificate. If any candidate comes to the exam centre without the original certificate, they will not be given scribe services or extra time. Photocopies or digital copies will not be accepted. The candidate must carry the original certificate issued by a competent medical authority.
SSC has also said that candidates must upload the certificate details during the application process so that they can be verified before exams. This is a strict rule, and every candidate must follow it to avoid cancellation of their benefits.
The main aim of this step is to make sure that only genuine PwBD candidates receive the relaxation and not anyone misusing the policy. The verification of original certificates will be done on the spot at the exam centres by the officials.
