Ishaan Trivedi is an SSC aspirant who comes from a strong academic background, particularly in Mathematics and English. Before starting his focused preparation for SSC CGL, he had already developed a solid understanding of core subjects and was also preparing for competitive exams like UPSC at a basic level. He later streamlined his preparation by focusing specifically on SSC exams with a structured strategy and disciplined approach.
Ishaan credited his academic background for giving him an early edge, especially in Mathematics and English. With already strong basics, he was able to focus more on practice and exam strategy rather than starting from scratch.
He began his focused preparation in July 2024 after realizing the scale of SSC CGL vacancies. At that time, he had limited knowledge of the exam pattern, so he followed structured guidance and enrolled in a crash course to streamline his preparation process.
One of his key strategies was sticking to a single trusted study source instead of collecting multiple books and materials. According to him, this reduces confusion and helps build confidence through repeated revision and practice of the same concepts.
Ishaan emphasized solving DPPs, mock tests, and previous year questions regularly. This helped him understand exam patterns and improve accuracy. He believed that practicing a variety of questions from a limited source is more effective than switching between multiple resources.
Instead of focusing on fixed study hours, Ishaan followed a topic-wise completion strategy. He planned what to complete in a day and ensured that targets were met, regardless of time taken. This reduced pressure and improved productivity.
He followed a weekly revision cycle, especially dedicating Sundays to revision. Daily quick revisions also helped him retain concepts better. According to him, regular revision ensures that concepts stay fresh and exam-ready.
Ishaan advised treating English as a language rather than a subject. He emphasized understanding concepts instead of rote learning grammar rules. With continuous practice, English becomes intuitive and easier to handle in exams.
For all subjects, the primary recommendation is to extensively use Previous Year Question (PYQ) books. The content and pattern across different publishers remain largely consistent, making focused and thorough revision of PYQs far more crucial than getting sidetracked by numerous book options.
