
The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has issued the half-yearly exam timetable for the 2025–26 academic year for Classes 6 to 12.
The schedule starts on December 10, 2025, for Classes 10 and 12 and continues through December 23, 2025. The early notification allows schools, parents, and students to plan revision and exam arrangements in advance.
As per the announcement, SSLC (Class 10) and Plus Two (Class 12) students will begin their exams on December 10 with Tamil/First Language, followed by English/Second Language on December 11. Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and elective papers will follow on the scheduled dates.
Exam Dates: December 10–23, 2025
Timings: 10 am to 1 pm
Reading Time: 9:45 am to 9:55 am
Verification Time: Additional 5 minutes
The timetable offers adequate spacing between subjects until December 23.
Class 11 exams will be held from December 10 to 23 in the afternoon, giving students the morning hours for revision.
Timing: 2 pm to 5 pm
Reading Time: 1:45 pm to 1:55 pm
The exam plan includes language papers, science stream subjects, mathematics, commerce, humanities, and electives.
For Classes 5 to 9, exams will begin on December 15 and end on December 23, 2025. Sessions are aligned with age groups to ensure better focus.
Classes 6 to 8: 10 am to 12:30 pm
Class 5: 2 pm to 4 pm
Class 9: 2 pm to 4:30 pm
Subjects such as Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and optional papers are spaced with sufficient preparation time.
