JAC Class 9 English Syllabus 2025: English is considered as a compulsory subject when it comes to the JAC Board. The Jharkhand Academic Council conducts the board examinations for Class 9 in order to prepare them for Class 10th Board examinations. Students must go through the official syllabus to begin their preparation.

It is structured in a way that it focuses on all the aspects of English i.e., writing, reading, grammar and literature part. The syllabus includes supplementary reading, poetry, and prose, giving importance to grammar rules and composition writing.

The JAC Class 9 English syllabus 2025 focuses on how students must develop and improve their overall communication skills by focusing on their overall language proficiency. With the introduction to sections like unseen passages and literary texts, students will be able to comprehend and analyse various texts according to their opinion.

With an addition to all the sections, Grammar holds equal importance to strengthen the fundamentals of the language. With a balanced approach to textbook literature (Beehive and Moments), grammar exercises, and writing formats, the syllabus prepares students not only for the Class 9 board exam but also lays a strong foundation for Class 10.

JAC Class 9 English Syllabus 2025 Marks Division

It is important for students preparing for the Class 9th JAC board exams to understand the exam pattern and then prepare for the exam accordingly. The JAC Board conducts exams in a different way by conducting two exams in one sitting. 

The Paper 1 includes the subjects Hindi + English which in total carries 80 marks, dividing it into 40 marks for each subject. It also includes the internal assessment marks of 20 each. 

Students will need to attempt both the subjects' exam paper within the same sitting, which requires students to develop time management skills. This integrated exam format reduces the number of exam days.

• As the syllabus is already divided into various sections like Writing, Reading, Literature, and Grammar, students must focus on one section at a time. They must aim to complete one topic and then practice various questions to get a strong grip on the concept. 

• Use the JAC Class 9 English Syllabus 2025 to mark the high weightage chapters from both textbooks and then give importance to poems and prose that are asked frequently in the exams. 

• Give priority to the writing section as it carries higher marks and needs practice. Practice various writing formats like articles, descriptive paragraphs, formal and informal letters to improve your writing skills and score well. 

• Grammatical rules should be followed correctly. To memorise them, students can note down all the grammatical rules and do regular revisions and practice worksheets.

• To keep the preparation on track, students can tick off the topics they have completed and focus on topics which are left out.
