Begin your preparation by focusing on high weightage units. Unit I (18 marks) and Units IV & VI (11 marks each) carry more marks. For easy revision, you must make short notes and flowcharts as they make longer topics like child development and clothing care easy.
Prepare for the practical activities in advance as they require consistent efforts. Regularly practise sewing samples, stain removal techniques, and food adulteration tests. Keep your record file neat and updated as it's evaluated during the external exam.
Make use of diagrams and colour-coded charts to memorise food safety labels, ORS recipes, and textile properties. These will help you recall definitions and lists during exams.
Divide all seven theory units across your study weeks, giving more time to difficult concepts. Prioritize previous years’ papers as well as it helps in understanding the exam pattern and the questions types. Give time to both written exam and practical activities equally as both components are important.
Don’t overlook one-mark or short-answer questions. These small questions are often direct and easy to answer if you’ve revised definitions, terms, and keywords well. They can help you secure extra marks that make a big difference in your final score.
