JKBOSE Class 11th Physics Syllabus 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) releases the syllabus for all the streams– Commerce, Humanities, and Science combined on its official website jkbose.nic.in.
The syllabus for both core subjects like Maths, Physics, Biology, Geography and even language subjects like Urdu, English, and Hindi is released. Students are advised to go through the syllabus carefully if they have decided to opt science stream in Class 11th.
The Physics syllabus for Class 11 focuses on providing students a conceptual understanding of core physical principles. It includes topics from classical mechanics, thermodynamics, kinetic theory, and waves. Such topics will lay a strong foundation for Class 12 topics.
The JKBOSE Class 11th Physics Syllabus 2025 must be taken into consideration by the students preparing for the Class 11th exams. The syllabus follows NCERT curriculum as it to balance theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The marks are generally divided into two segments– written and practical exam as mentioned in the syllabus. Students are advised to keep a hard copy of the syllabus as it includes the details about the exam duration and even the exam pattern.
The JKBOSE Class 11th Physics Syllabus 2025 exam pattern includes various types of questions like:
Objective Type Question/Multiple Choice Question for 1 mark each
Very Short Answer Type Questions of 2 mark
Short Answer type questions of 3 marks each
Long Answer type questions of 5 marks each
The paper may also include HOTS questions as mentioned in the syllabus. Numerical problems carry significant weight (approximately 25% of the paper), so students should focus equally on concepts and calculations.
The JKBOSE Class 11th Physics syllabus 2025 includes the marking scheme which allows students to plan their study timetable accordingly. As the written exam carries 70 marks, students must use the marking scheme as a base and prioritize topics based on their marking scheme.
Students must complete the high weightage units properly in order to score high marks. Units like Kinematics and Oscillations and Waves carry the highest marks and they must be prioritized. By keeping the marking scheme in mind, students can balance theory, numerical practice, and revision more effectively.

It is important for all the Class 11th students to download the JKBOSE Class 11th Physics syllabus 2025 in order to prepare for the academic exams. The syllabus will provide a structure to their preparation by analyzing the important and less important chapters. Every students’ focus must be on understanding the chapters rather than completing the syllabus. An official PDF of the syllabus has been attached below:
Study without using the internet
Students must refer to the books prescribed in the syllabus. It will help them build a strong conceptual foundation in Physics. They cover all the topics in a structured and simple language, which is helpful not just for school exams but also for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
Physics Part-I, Textbook for Class XI, Published by NCERT.
Physics Part-II, Textbook for Class XI, Published by NCERT.
Laboratory Manual of Physics, Class XI, Published by NCERT.
Students must begin their preparation by referring to the official syllabus. They must focus on chapters with higher weightage. The theory exam carries 70 marks, while practicals carry 30 marks (20 external + 10 internal). Chapters like Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves must be prioritized.
As the JKBOSE board follows the NCERT curriculum, students must cover the prescribed textbooks (Physics Part I & II by NCERT). They must understand line-by-line, highlight key formulas, and solve all NCERT exercises to cover the syllabus.
Physics is a subject which requires strong numerical problem-solving skills. So, dedicate time daily to solve derivations, formula-based questions, and numerical problems from each chapter.
As the practical assessment section carries 30 marks, students must not ignore the Laboratory Manual. Complete all the required experiments and activities, and prepare your project report neatly as scoring well in this section can significantly boost your overall percentage.
In the last 1–2 months, focus on revising concepts and solving sample papers or JKBOSE previous year papers. It helps in time management, understanding question patterns, and spotting your weak areas.
