Written Examination: This consists of two parts:
Part A: Punjabi Language Test: A qualifying objective-type (MCQ) test based on Matriculation-level Punjabi. Candidates need at least 50% marks to qualify, but these marks are not counted for the final merit.
Part B: Subject-Based Examination: An objective-type (MCQ) test based on the educational qualification for the post. Each question carries 1 mark, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The merit list is prepared solely based on Part B marks.
Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of a tie in Part B marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. If age is also the same, a higher percentage in the qualifying educational qualification is considered. If a tie persists, Matriculation marks are used.
Document Verification and Counselling: Candidates who qualify for the written examination will be called for document verification and counselling based on their merit in Part B.
