RSSB 4th Grade 2025 Cut-Off Drops for Reserved Categories After Normalisation has become one of the most discussed recruitment updates in Rajasthan. After the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board released the result and scorecards, thousands of candidates noticed a sharp decline in cut-off marks for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Divyang categories.
The change occurred after applying the normalisation process, which adjusts scores across multiple exam shifts to maintain fairness between easy and difficult papers.
The Rajasthan Grade 4 (Class IV) recruitment is one of the largest state hiring drives. Due to different difficulty levels across shifts, RSSB applied score normalisation before preparing the final merit list.
| Details | Information |
| Total Vacancies | 53,750 |
| TSP Area Posts | 5,550 |
| NTSP Area Posts | 48,199 |
| Applicants | Over 21 lakh |
| Exam Mode | Multiple shifts (CBT) |
| Selection Stages | Written exam → Document Verification |
After releasing scorecards and category-wise cut-offs, a major pattern emerged:
Reserved category cut-offs dropped by 21 to 43 marks compared to the general category.
Additionally, many candidates reported that:
Scores were reduced by 1 to 8 marks after normalisation
Even with the same number of correct answers, rankings changed
Cut-offs in TSP areas showed sharper variation
This unexpected decline surprised candidates who believed higher vacancies would lead to stable cut-off levels.
The normalisation process:
Balances scores from easy and tough shifts
Prevents unfair advantage
Recalculates raw marks into adjusted scores
Impacts borderline candidates significantly
While the system ensures fairness, it also results in lower cut-offs for certain categories, especially when paper difficulty varies.
Below is a snapshot of the cut-off decline trend observed after normalisation:
| Category | General | OBC | SC |
| Male | 116.4909 | 105.412 (-11.0789) | 95.2353 (-21.2556) |

| Widow | 4.6143 | 0.2731 (-4.3412) | 0.0033 (-4.611) |

Widow category Rank 880: score increased by 3.91 marks
The Divyang (PH) category witnessed the steepest fall:
Cut-off dropped by 43.75 marks compared to the general category.
This is the highest decline among all categories.
Despite huge vacancies, competition remained intense:
