How to Calculate KCET Rank with Board Marks 2025

How to Calculate KCET Rank with Board Marks 2025: To calculate the KCET 2025 rank, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) considers 50% of the KCET exam score and 50% of the qualifying (Class 12) marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The combined score is used to determine the merit rank.

Candidates must have studied PCM in their board exams, and only these subjects are considered for the board marks component. KEA normalizes marks for different boards to ensure fairness. The final rank is then published in the KCET result. Note: For Medical and Agricultural courses, NEET and practical scores are also factored in. Check this article to know more.

KCET Marks Entry 2025

How to Calculate KCET Rank with Board Marks 2025

To calculate your KCET 2025 rank using board marks, follow these steps:

  1. Understand the Weightage: KCET rank is determined by giving equal weightage (50:50) to your Class 12 (2nd PUC) marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and your KCET exam scores in the same subjects.

  2. Calculate Board Exam Percentage:

    • Add your PCM marks from Class 12.

    • Divide the total by the maximum possible marks (usually 300) and multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

    • Example: If you scored 255/300, your percentage is (255/300) × 100 = 85%.

  3. Calculate KCET Exam Percentage:

    • Add your KCET scores in PCM.

    • Divide the total by 180 (maximum KCET marks) and multiply by 100.

    • Example: If you scored 135/180, your percentage is (135/180) × 100 = 75%.

  4. Compute Final Score:

    • Average the two percentages: (Board Percentage + KCET Percentage) / 2.

    • Example: (85% + 75%) / 2 = 80%.

  5. Determine Rank:

    • Use your final score to estimate your rank using KCET marks vs. rank data. For instance, a final score of 80% might correspond to a rank between 2000 and 5000.
