MHT CET 2026 Cutoff Analysis helps candidates understand the expected admission trends for top engineering colleges in Maharashtra. The cutoff represents the opening and closing ranks at which admissions are offered during the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). By analyzing previous years' cutoffs, students can estimate their chances of securing admission to preferred colleges and branches through MHT CET 2026 counselling.
The State CET Cell will release the MHT CET 2026 College-Wise Cutoff on the official website after each counselling round.
Cutoffs will be published as opening and closing ranks for all participating colleges.
Admission will be based on the closing rank, which is the last rank eligible for admission.
MHT CET 2026 counselling is expected to begin in June 2026.
Candidates who qualified through MHT CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026 can participate in counselling.
Category-wise and college-wise cutoff lists will be released separately.
Some of the most sought-after engineering institutes participating in MHT CET counselling include:
Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai

Based on previous counselling trends, the following observations can be made:
Computer Engineering, CSE (AI & ML), Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence programs continue to record the lowest closing ranks across top colleges. Candidates aiming for these branches should target a rank within the top 5,000–10,000.
Institutes located in Pune and Mumbai generally attract the highest number of applicants, leading to tougher cutoffs compared to colleges in other regions.
Specializations such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Data Science, IoT, and Robotics have become highly popular due to strong industry demand and placement opportunities.
Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Metallurgy branches typically remain available at comparatively higher ranks, providing good options for candidates with moderate MHT CET scores.
The MHT CET cutoff varies every year due to multiple factors, including:
Number of candidates appearing for MHT CET 2026
Difficulty level of the examination
Overall performance of candidates
Previous year cutoff trends
Number of seats available in participating colleges
Reservation category and quota-wise seat distribution
Popularity of specific colleges and branches among applicants
Experts anticipate that MHT CET 2026 cutoffs for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Information Technology may remain similar to or slightly higher than previous years due to increasing demand. Candidates are advised to prepare a balanced college preference list consisting of dream, target, and safe colleges during CAP counselling.
