To pass the Tamil Nadu Class 12th exam, students need to get a minimum score.
Total Marks: For each subject, the total is 100 marks.
Passing Marks: Students must get at least 35 marks out of 100 in each subject.
Theory and Practical: For subjects with practicals, students must get 15 marks out of 70 in the theory exam. They must also attend the practical exam.
If a student gets less than 35 marks in any subject, they will have to write a supplementary exam.
After the result comes out, students have many options.
Collect Marksheets: Students can get their original marksheet from their schools after a few days.
College Admissions: Students can apply for degrees like MBBS, Engineering (BE/B.Tech), B.Com, B.Sc, or B.A.
Entrance Exams: Some students might prepare for exams like NEET or JEE.
Supplementary Exams: If someone did not pass, they can apply for the "Special Supplementary Exam" held in June or July.
Sometimes, a student might feel they deserved more marks. In such cases, they can ask for a scanned copy of their answer sheet.
Students have to apply through their school.
They must pay a small fee (around ₹275 per subject).
The board will provide a digital copy of the answer paper. Students can check how the teacher gave marks for each answer.
If a student finds a mistake in their scanned copy, they can ask for Re-Valuation.
In re-valuation, a new teacher will check the whole paper again.
This is only for theory subjects.
The fee for re-valuation is about ₹505 per subject.
Remember, marks can increase or even decrease after this process.
Re-totaling is different from re-valuation. In Re-Totaling, the board only checks if the marks were added correctly.
The teacher checks if any answer was left without marks.
The teacher adds all the marks again to make sure the total is right.
The fee for re-totaling is around ₹205 per subject.
