TS EAMCET Cut off

TS EAMCET Cut off is the minimum closing rank which is required by a candidate to secure admission into various Engineering, Agricultural, and Medical courses offered by colleges across Telangana. The cut-off is not a fixed score but the last rank at which admission was granted for a specific course, college, and category during the final round of the counselling.

Aspirants need to understand that securing a rank above the closing rank is the primary criterion to accomplish the eligibility requirements for enrollment in the course. It is advised that all candidates should target a higher rank than the previous year's cut-offs. It helps to ensure a better chance of admission to their preferred institute and branch.

TS EAMCET Cutoff and Eligibility

The concept of a TS EAMCET Cut off works as a standard for admission based on merit. The cut-off is defined by the closing rank instead of a minimum qualifying score. A closing rank is the lowest rank that is admitted to a particular college or branch combination in a specific category. The cut-off determines a candidate's eligibility in two primary ways:

College Admission: The rank must be equal to or better than the closing rank of the desired college and course.

Category Specificity: The cut-off is applied category-wise (Open Category/OC, SC, ST, BC-A/B/C/D/E). A general category candidate cannot apply using the rank cut-off set for an SC candidate.

The overall TS EAMCET merit rank is prepared by giving 100% weightage to the marks secured in the entrance exam. According to the recent policy changes by the Telangana government, the 25% weightage previously given to Intermediate marks has been waived to calculate rank. Therefore, the final merit is determined completely based on the performance of the candidate in the TS EAPCET entrance test.

TS EAMCET Cutoff Marks (Branch-Wise)

TS EAMCET cut-off ranks are dependent on the chosen branch and the reputation of the Institution. Premier institutions and high-demand branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) have much lower closing ranks.

Aspirants need to refer to the trends of previous years in order to understand the target required for the 2026 session.  The table below shows the expected closing ranks for the general (OC) category in top branches and popular colleges:

Factors that Determine TS EAMCET Cutoff 2026

TS EAMCET Cutoff 2026 is highly dynamic and is recalculated every year based on several factors. Having an understanding of these factors can help candidates to estimate the possible cut-off range:

Difficulty Level of the Exam: If the TS EAMCET exam is difficult, the average score and hence the closing ranks are likely to be lower.

Number of Candidates: A higher number of aspirants appearing for the exam increases competition. It usually results in a lower or better closing rank for top colleges.

Total Number of Seats: If the number of available seats in a particular course or college is less, the demand is high. It leads to a much more competitive closing rank.

Previous Year's Cutoff Trends: Counselling bodies often use the past year's cut-off data as a baseline, resulting in a similar trend, barring any major policy changes.

Performance of Top Rankers: If candidates secure high scores, the top ranks concentrate quickly. This influences the cut-off for the most sought-after colleges.

Reservation Policy: Statutory reservations for SC, ST, BC, EWS, and other categories result in separate cut-offs for each group.

TS EAMCET Cutoff 2026 Important Points

For complete clarity on the admission process and the use of the cut-off, candidates should keep some important points in mind. Here are some important points that candidates need to keep in mind for better understanding:

Cut-off is a Rank, not a Score: The TS EAMCET cut-off is defined by the closing rank of the last admitted candidate, not a minimum mark or score.

Category-Specific: The cut-off is released separately for every reservation category (OC, SC, ST, BC-A/B/C/D/E, etc.). Candidates must check the cut-off applicable to their category.

Multiple Rounds: The cut-off is published after every round of centralized counselling. The final cut-off is one that is released after the last phase of allotment.

Home State Reservation: Telangana colleges have separate cut-offs for candidates who belong to the Andhra University (AU), Osmania University (OU), and Non-Local (NL) regions.

Weightage Consideration: The final merit list is based 100% on the TS EAMCET/TS EAPCET score only. The weightage for Intermediate (10+2) marks has been removed by the state government.
