70th BPSC Topper Avinash Kumar Success Story: Cleared BPSC After 5 Attempts

Clearing the BPSC examination is rarely an easy journey. While some candidates succeed in their first attempt, many achieve their dream only after years of consistent preparation, repeated failures, and continuous self-improvement. 

One such inspiring example is 70th BPSC topper Avinash Kumar, who secured the post of State Tax Assistant Commissioner after five attempts. His journey highlights the importance of patience, perseverance, and believing in yourself even when success seems distant. 

How Did Avinash Kumar Feel on the 70th BPSC Result Day?

Even after seeing his result, Avinash found it difficult to believe that years of preparation had finally paid off. He described feeling relieved rather than excited, as the long journey had finally come to an end. 

The result day itself was full of nervousness. He already knew that the commission would declare the result later in the evening.

"Aayog ne press conference ki ghoshna ki ki hum press conference karenge 5:30 ke aas-paas. Uske baad dhak-dhak shuru hua."

To avoid overthinking, he decided to stay busy.

"4:30 se 6:30 baje tak test lagana shuru kiya ki seriously test laga rahe hain. Tab tak aa jayega result, warna blood circulation upar neeche hota rahega."

Before checking the result, he visited a temple and downloaded the result PDF there. After finding his roll number, he finally saw his selected post.

"Main soch raha tha koi baat nahi, koi post ho, sabse aakhiri bhi post ho sir, main utna hi khush hoonga. Phir dekha thoda sa upar uthaya to State Tax Assistant Commissioner likha hua tha."

Instead of celebrating loudly, he felt a deep sense of relief after years of uncertainty.

How Avinash Kumar Cleared the 70th BPSC Exam After Five Attempts 

Avinash's success did not come in his first or second attempt. It came after years of continuous preparation.

"Ye mera panchva attempt hai. 66 se de raha hoon main. Panchva attempt hai."

He also shared how long he had been preparing.

"2015 mein maine graduation kiya... 2017 se maan lijiye sir. Maine ek lamba samay tay kiya hai aur us lambe samay mein bahut saare experiences face kiye hain."

During these years, he reached different stages of the examination.

"Main chaar baar fail hua hoon. Panchvi baar safal hua hoon. Interview mein bhi fail hua. Mains mein bhi fail hua. 68th mein to prelims mein tight face kiya."

His journey reflects that clearing BPSC often requires as much patience as preparation.

How Family and Friends Supported Avinash Kumar Throughout His BPSC Journey

During difficult phases, Avinash never felt alone. His family continued believing in him even when results did not go his way.

"Mere mummy papa aur mere dost bolte the, 'Nahi, tumhi se hoga. Tumse nahi hoga to kis se hoga? Apne group ke sabse badhiya student ho.'"

He especially spoke about the confidence his mother had in him.

"Meri maa mere par bada bharosa karti thi. Unko lagta tha ki unka beta kar lega."

Avinash also believes that parents silently carry the biggest burden during an aspirant's preparation.

"Real pressure sir maa-baap face karte hain. Hum to bahar hain. Hum padh rahe hain. Maa-baap ko log bolte hain ki itna saal se exam hi nahi nikal raha, kya karega?"

His close friends also became his support system throughout the journey.

"Doston ka bada taqat hai sir Civil Services nikalne mein agar aapke paas achhe dost hain."

According to him, encouragement from family and friends helped him continue whenever he felt discouraged.

Did Avinash Kumar Ever Consider Quitting BPSC Preparation? 

Like many aspirants, Avinash also reached a stage where he questioned whether he should continue.

He recalled one particular examination where he believed he had written his best History Optional paper.

"67 ke samay maine apne jeevan ka sabse achha History Optional likha tha. Waisa maine na UPSC mein likha tha, na UPPCS mein, na JPSC mein."

But the result was disappointing.

"Jab woh nahi hua to mujhe ek pal ke liye laga ki yaar kuch aur karna chahiye kya? Jab nahi ho pa raha hai to?"

That phase made him seriously question whether he should continue preparing. 

Instead, his family and friends gave him the confidence to continue.

"Mere mummy papa aur mere dost... 'Nahi, tumhi hoga.'"

Those simple words became one of the biggest reasons he stayed in the journey.

Role of BPSC Wallah in Avinash Kumar's Preparation 

During the conversation, Avinash shared that he regularly followed BPSC Wallah's guidance during his preparation. He said many aspirants trusted the platform for updates and current affairs.

According to Avinash, starting the day with newspaper analysis became an important part of Civil Services preparation.

He also acknowledged the effort to explain The Hindu in Hindi through YouTube.

"Aap pehle vyakti the Civil Service ke maamle mein jinhone The Hindu ko Hindi mein YouTube channel mein lekar aaye."

How Avinash Kumar Stayed Motivated After Repeated Failures 

Whenever he faced setbacks, Avinash chose faith over frustration and continued preparing with the same determination. 

"Jab bhi main hara hoon, jab bhi main gira hoon, mandir ke darwaze par gaya hoon."

He believes difficult phases are sometimes part of a bigger plan.

"Agar aap poori mehnat karte hain aur uske baad bhi Ishwar aapko turant nahi de rahe hain, to woh kuch bahut khoobsurat cheez aapke liye rakhe hain. Bas intezar karo. Lekin give up nahi karna hai."

This belief helped him stay calm during the years when success seemed far away.

Instead of becoming impatient, he chose to continue working with the same commitment.

Challenges and Sacrifices During Avinash Kumar's BPSC Preparation 

Success finally arrived, but Avinash openly admitted that long preparation also demands sacrifices.

"Bahut kuch chheen liya sir. Apnon ko chheen liya. Samay ko chheen liya."

He also spoke about how competitive preparation affects personal relationships and important moments in life.

At the same time, he feels that the journey made him emotionally stronger and more mature.

"Mujhe lagta hai ye cheezen 3–4 saal pehle aa jaati to shayad zyada khush tha. Ab thodi maturity aa gayi hai. Maturity khushiyon ko thoda curve kar deti hai."

His words reflect that success is meaningful, but the journey also changes a person's outlook towards life.

Avinash Kumar's Advice for Future BPSC Aspirants 

Avinash had an encouraging message for candidates who could not clear the examination this time.

He reminded them that many talented candidates miss selection despite strong preparation.

"Aisa nahi ki hum 2027 log bahut turam khan hain. Knowledge sabke paas hoti hai. Sabke paas ability aur potential hota hai. Bas thoda luck hota hai, thoda din hota hai, samay hota hai."

He also urged aspirants not to lose hope after one unsuccessful attempt.

"Bilkul nirash nahi hona hai."

Quoting a well-known line, he ended his message with optimism.

"'Nar ho na nirash karo man ko, kuch kaam karo, kuch kaam karo.' Hum logon ko karna hai aur jeetna hai."

His journey highlights that consistent effort, patience, and self-belief can eventually lead to success in competitive examinations.
