Allahabad High Court RO Eligibility 2026 includes the age limit and educational qualification that every candidate needs to meet to apply for the RO and ARO posts. 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) from a recognised university. This includes degrees such as BA, BSc, BCom, B.Tech, or any other equivalent graduate-level degree.

 Computer Qualification

In addition to a graduate degree, candidates must possess one of the following computer qualifications:

A Diploma in Computer Science.

A DOEACC / NIELIT 'O' Level certificate (1-year course).

A CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) certificate.

A diploma in computers of at least one year's duration from a recognised institution (e.g., PGDCA).
Candidates without one of these specified computer qualifications are not eligible.

Age Limit

General/UR Category: 21 to 35 years.

Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC): Age relaxation is provided as per government norms, typically up to 5 years.

Allahabad High Court RO Selection Process 2026

The examination is conducted in two parts on the same day, with a 15-minute interval between them.

Part 1: General Studies (Objective Test)

  • Mode: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Objective Type.

  • Total Questions: 200

  • Maximum Marks: 200

  • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this paper.

  • Language: The paper is bilingual (Hindi and English).

Part 2: Computer Knowledge Test (Typing)

  • Nature: This is a typing test conducted on a computer.

  • Task: Candidates receive an English text of approximately 500 words to reproduce accurately.

  • Duration: 20 minutes.

  • Speed Requirement: This equates to a typing speed of 25 words per minute (WPM).

  • Qualifying Nature: This test is qualifying, requiring a minimum of 25 out of 50 marks. However, its marks are added to the final merit. Candidates failing to achieve the minimum qualifying marks will be disqualified, and their Part 1 paper will not be evaluated.

  • Error/Mark Deduction: Marks are deducted for errors, typically 0.1 marks per error.
