The Bihar Public Service Commission has officially opened the BPSC 71st Mains Online Form 2025 for candidates who cleared the prelims. With 1,298 total vacancies spread across various Bihar government departments, this phase marks the most crucial step for aspirants preparing for the Combined Competitive Examination. 

The 71st BPSC mains application form is now available on the official BPSC website, and candidates can fill it out from December 3, 2025, to December 24, 2025.

The mains form is for candidates who cleared the 71st BPSC Prelims Exam, whose result was declared on 18 November 2025. According to the official notification, 14,261 candidates have qualified to appear for the mains examination.

This recruitment cycle includes 1,298 vacancies across various administrative, police, revenue, and departmental posts under the Government of Bihar.

As per the official notice, no mains exam fee is required.
This is applicable to all categories following the government’s resolution.

How to Fill BPSC 71st Mains Online Form 2025

Follow these steps to apply:

2. Open the link “71st Combined Mains Online Form 2025”.

3. Log in with your Prelims registration number and password.

4. Fill personal details, category information, and service/post preferences.

5. Select one optional subject carefully.

6. Upload documents in the required format.

7. Review the application thoroughly; corrections may not be allowed later.

8. Submit the form and download the PDF with barcode and application number.

9. Keep the printout safely for future use like interview and verification.

71st BPSC Mains Online Form Eligibility and Key Instructions

1. Who Can Apply?

Only candidates who qualified in the 71st BPSC Prelims are eligible.

2. Age Limit

Minimum age varies depending on the post category. Age relaxation applies as per state reservation norms.

3. Reservation Details

Reservation applies only for Bihar domicile candidates, including:

• SC / ST

• BC / EBC

• EWS

• PwD

• Women (35% horizontal reservation)

• Freedom Fighter category

Candidates must ensure their caste, community, disability, and EWS certificates remain valid till the cutoff date.

BPSC 71st Mains Exam Pattern 2025

The mains exam includes compulsory and optional papers.

Compulsory Papers

• General Hindi – 100 marks (qualifying only)

• General Studies Paper 1 – 300 marks

• General Studies Paper 2 – 300 marks

• Essay – 300 marks

Optional Subject

Candidates must choose one optional subject.

• For Combined Posts → 100-mark MCQ paper (2 hours)

• For Finance Administrative Officer → 300-mark descriptive paper (3 hours)

Optional subjects include History, Geography, Agriculture, Psychology, Physics, Sociology, Political Science, and several Indian languages.

Qualifying Marks

• General: 40%

• BC: 36.5%

• EBC: 34%

• SC/ST/Women/PwD: 32%

Interview Round

Candidates scoring above cutoff will be called for a 120-mark interview, nearly 2.5 times the number of vacancies.

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of 900 mains marks + 120 interview marks.
