BPSC Deleted 5 Questions: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the Final Answer Key for the 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Prelims 2025. The commission has confirmed that five questions have been deleted after expert review. This decision came following multiple objections and analysis from subject experts across various subjects.
Candidates are eager to understand how this move will impact their marks and the upcoming merit list. As per the latest updates, deleted questions will be treated as bonus marks for all candidates, just like in the previous exam cycle.
BPSC stated that the deletion was made after identifying errors, ambiguity, and content mismatches in certain questions.
Some questions contained incorrect factual bases, like the Young India newspaper question.
Others were deemed outside the official syllabus or had multiple valid answers.
A few were typographical or reference errors from source materials.
Experts noted that such deletions help ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.
According to analysis by educators and coaching experts:
Young India question – ambiguity in options regarding Annie Besant and Mahatma Gandhi.
Pirates (Parites) production question – conceptual mismatch; treated as reserve-based, not production-based.
2023 Current Affairs question – no verifiable source; deleted entirely.
Polity-based question – confusing phrasing led to multiple interpretations.
Geography question – mismatch with NCERT-referenced data.
These deletions were consistent across all sets (A, B, C, D).

Following its past practice, BPSC will award marks for all deleted questions to every candidate.
For instance, if five questions were deleted, all aspirants will receive equivalent marks as compensation.
This ensures that no candidate loses due to question-setting inconsistencies.
However, those whose deleted questions were earlier answered correctly may see a minor adjustment in total marks, depending on normalization and scoring method.
As per experts and mentors featured in the video:
Since most deleted questions were answered correctly by the majority, their removal will slightly lower the overall cut-off.
The expected general category cut-off may hover around 80 ± 2 for males and 75 ± 2 for females.
Category-wise, BC and EBC cut-offs may reduce by 2–4 marks.
So, while the change won’t drastically affect the merit order, it could shift the qualifying line downward by 1–2 marks.
Many aspirants expressed concern over losing marks on questions they believed were correct.
However, most appreciated BPSC’s decision to maintain exam integrity by issuing a transparent final answer key.
The debate around “Young India” and “Parites” questions gained traction on social media, with candidates sharing answer discrepancies and discussing expected outcomes.
The BPSC 71st Result 2025 is expected in the first week of November.
Shortlisted candidates will then be eligible for the Mains Examination, followed by the Interview round.
BPSC will soon release detailed notifications on the Mains form, syllabus, and exam centers.
In the 70th Prelims, BPSC had also deleted three questions and provided equal marks to all candidates.
This shows a consistent approach towards maintaining fairness and accountability in evaluation standards.
