Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has significantly upgraded the conduct of the Prelims 2026 examination to ensure fairness, transparency, and zero tolerance for malpractice. With over 13 lakh candidates expected, the commission has deployed advanced identification, surveillance, and screening systems across all centers.
If you are appearing on April 26, understanding these new exam day rules is essential to avoid last-minute issues and ensure smooth entry into the examination hall.
MPPSC Prelims examination is scheduled soon. To ensure fairness and prevent malpractices, a three-layer security system will be implemented. Candidates are strongly advised to arrive at the exam center approximately 2 hours prior to the scheduled time. It is crucial to verify the exact location of the exam center in advance, as similar-sounding college names have previously led to confusion and issues for candidates.
Exam Date: April 26, 2026
Reporting Time: At least 2 hours before the exam
Verify the exact exam center location in advance. Similar college names in cities have previously caused confusion and late reporting.
Late entry may lead to denial of entry due to strict pre-screening timelines.
For the first time, pre-screening and biometric identification will be mandatory for all candidates. An estimated 1,334,000 candidates are expected to appear for the exam. Admit cards will now feature a QR code for biometric authentication. This QR code will be scanned at examination centers to verify candidate identity and securely access their complete information.
To further strengthen exam integrity, hand-held metal detectors will be present at every examination center. Each candidate will undergo a metal detector scan to detect any unauthorized electronic devices. Moreover, CCTV surveillance will be mandatory in all examination halls across every MPPSC exam center. All exam centers and halls will also be subject to live monitoring from a control room established at the MPPSC headquarters.
A significant change this year is the introduction of a Negative Marking system for the first time in the MPPSC exam. Currently, 155 posts are available under this MPPSC notification. However, there is a possibility of an increase in the number of posts before the final results are declared. If government departments submit additional demands, new positions could be added by the end of April. MPPSC has already issued an addendum regarding revisions in vacancies to reflect this potential.
The new system is specifically designed to eliminate the possibility of fraudulent candidates participating in the examination. According to Dr. Rajesh Lal Mehra, Chairman of MPPSC, the examination system is becoming highly robust and high-tech. This comprehensive enhancement aims to benefit millions of candidates, ensuring that only legitimate individuals reach the exam centers and that the integrity of the entire process is fully secured.
