MPPSC Prelims Shift Timings 2026: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) organises the State Service Preliminary Examination to select candidates for various government posts. For the 2026 cycle, the exam is scheduled to take place on April 26, 2026. The exam is conducted in two separate sessions on the same day. All students need to know the exact time for each paper to reach the centre early and avoid any problems.
The preliminary exam has two papers. Both papers are mandatory. The first paper is General Studies, and the second paper is the General Aptitude Test. Each paper lasts for two hours.

Candidates must bring certain documents to the exam centre. Without these, entry into the hall will not be allowed. It is better to prepare these items one day before the exam.
Admit Card: A printed copy of the MPPSC Prelims Admit Card is mandatory. It contains a special QR code for entry.
Photo ID Proof: Any original government ID like an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photographs that match the one on the application form.
Ballpoint Pen: A simple blue or black ballpoint pen to fill the OMR sheet.
MPPSC Prelims Exam Day Instructions have been provided for the convenience of the candidates to sit in the exam. Candidates can reach the centre on time, carrying the required documents for the security check only.
Reach Early: Candidates should arrive at least 2 hours before the exam starts for security checks.
Security Check: Everyone must go through a metal detector and a frisking process.
Biometric Entry: Candidates will have their identity verified using the QR code on their admit cards and biometric scans.
CCTV Monitoring: All exam halls are under constant CCTV surveillance to prevent any cheating.
OMR Rules: Use only a black or blue pen to mark the circles. Do not use a pencil or eraser on the OMR sheet.
Candidates should not carry any prohibited items to the test centre. It may lead to the cancellation of their candidature. The authority may not allow a candidate to sit in the MPPSC Prelims examination.
Electronic Gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and Bluetooth devices are strictly forbidden.
Study Materials: Books, notes, pieces of paper, or any written material cannot be taken inside.
Accessories: Bags, wallets, belts, and expensive jewellery should be left at home.
Heavy Clothing: Candidates should wear simple clothes. Clothes with many pockets or big metallic buttons are not allowed.
Food Items: No food is allowed inside, but a transparent water bottle without any label is permitted.
