UPPSC APS Syllabus: The UPPSC Additional Private Secretary (APS) syllabus consists of three phases: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Computer Proficiency Test.   • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Conversant in the use of the World Wide Web and popular websites (for Railway/Air Reservation, search engines like Google, information websites like Wikipedia, etc.)

  • Working Knowledge of E-mailing (sending, sending with attachment, reading, saving, printing, maintaining address book, etc.)

  • Working Knowledge of preparation of presentations (PowerPoint, PDF, etc.) with different styles and animations.

UPPSC APS Exam Pattern 2025

Understanding the UPPSC APS Exam Pattern 2025 is the first step in preparing for it. This includes the types of questions on the exam, its length, and more. The Exam Pattern for the UPPSC APS Exam 2025 is outlined below.

There are 3 papers in the 2025 UPPSC APS Exam. Paper 1 tests general knowledge, Paper 2 tests general Hindi, and Paper 3 tests computer knowledge. Each Stage 1 paper is worth 50 marks. The UPPSC APS Exam lasts three hours, with one hour for each paper. 

Stage 2 includes Hindi Shorthand and Typewriting for 100 marks. Stage 3 features a computer practical worth 50 marks.

UPPSC Shorthand Typing Test 2025

In the UPPSC Hindi Shorthand Type Test, candidates must reach a speed of 25 words per minute. Those with a lower speed will not be eligible. 

Candidates who reach 25 wpm will get 10 marks. If they go beyond that, they will earn an extra mark for every additional 5 wpm. However, their total score cannot exceed 15 marks.

5. Mock Tests & Practice Papers

  • Solve previous years’ UPPSC APS papers and attempt mock tests regularly.

  • Focus on accuracy, speed, and formatting especially in skill-based tests.

6. Time Management & Revision

  • Allocate specific time slots to each section daily.
