The UPPSC CSAT Syllabus 2026 forms an important part of the UPPSC Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Preliminary Examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). General Studies Paper II, commonly known as the CSAT paper, evaluates candidates' aptitude, logical reasoning, comprehension, decision-making, quantitative aptitude, and language skills.
Although the paper is qualifying in nature, candidates must score at least 33% marks for their General Studies Paper I to be considered for the Preliminary merit list. Understanding the latest syllabus, exam pattern, marking scheme, and preparation strategy can help candidates qualify the paper with a good score.
The UPPSC Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers conducted on the same day. While General Studies Paper I determines the merit for the Mains examination, General Studies Paper II (CSAT) is only qualifying.

Clearing the UPPSC CSAT paper requires consistent practice rather than extensive memorisation. Candidates should focus on accuracy, conceptual clarity, and time management to comfortably secure the qualifying marks.
Focus on Accuracy: Since there is negative marking, avoid random guessing and attempt only those questions for which you are reasonably confident.
Strengthen Basic Concepts: Revise Class 10-level mathematics, reasoning, English, and Hindi grammar thoroughly to build a strong foundation.
Practice Comprehension Regularly: Solve English and Hindi comprehension passages daily to improve reading speed, understanding, and accuracy.
Solve Previous Years' Papers: Practice the last 5–10 years of UPPSC CSAT question papers to understand the exam pattern, frequently asked topics, and difficulty level.
Take Mock Tests: Attempt full-length mock tests under timed conditions to improve speed, accuracy, and time management.
Revise Important Topics: Regularly revise arithmetic formulas, reasoning concepts, grammar rules, and vocabulary to retain key concepts.
Improve Time Management: Divide your exam time wisely among different sections and avoid spending too much time on difficult questions.
Analyse Your Performance: After every mock test or practice paper, review your mistakes and work on weak areas to improve your overall score.
