  • Minimum Age (as on January 1, 2026)- 21 years

  • Maximum Age (as on January 1, 2026)-40 years

Age Relaxation: 

  • SC/ST/OBC of U.P.,Skilled players of U.P. (Classified Games), U.P. State Govt. Employees (including teachers/staff)-5 years

  • Ex-Service Men-3 years

  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD)-15 years

Educational Qualification: Review Officer (RO)

A Bachelor's Degree from any recognized University/Institute in India or equivalent.

Educational Qualification: Assistant Review Officer (ARO) - UPPSC

A Bachelor's Degree from any recognized Indian University or equivalent. A Diploma in Computer Science or an "O" Level certificate by DOEACC Society is required. A minimum speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting is also necessary.

Educational Qualification: Assistant Review Officer (ARO) - U.P. Secretariat/U.P. Board of Revenue

A Bachelor's Degree from any recognized Indian University or equivalent. An "O" Level certificate by DOEACC Society or equivalent is needed. A minimum speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting is also required.

Educational Qualification: Assistant Review Officer (ARO) - Account - UPPSC

A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from any recognized Indian University or equivalent.

Additional Note

NCC ‘B Certificate’ holders and Territorial Army personnel with 2 years of service are also eligible for direct recruitment.

UPPSC RO ARO Selection Process

The selection process for UPPSC RO ARO involves three distinct stages. Candidates must clear each stage to move forward.

  • Prelims: This is a qualifying exam with two papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2 combine for 200 marks from 200 questions.

  • Mains: Candidates who qualify in Prelims can appear for the Mains exam. It has three papers, covering both objective and subjective questions. This stage totals 420 marks, which form the basis of the final merit.

  • Skill/Typing Test: This test assesses typing proficiency in both English and Hindi. It is a qualifying test, and failure results in disqualification.

  • Note: There is no interview for this examination.

UPPSC RO ARO Salary

Candidates selected for UPPSC RO ARO positions receive competitive salaries and allowances. The pay scales are based on the 7th Central/State Pay Commission norms.

  • Pay Level: Level 8

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100

  • Approx. In-hand Salary: Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 75,000 per month

  • Assistant Review Officer (Sahayak Samiksha Adhikari):

  • Pay Level: Level 7

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 44,900 - Rs. 1,42,400

  • Approx. In-hand Salary: Rs. 55,000 - Rs. 65,000 per month

In addition to the basic salary, selected candidates receive various allowances. These include House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Allowance, Dearness Allowance (DA), and Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
