APPSC TGT Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the APPSC TGT Recruitment 2026 involves two main stages designed to assess candidates' knowledge and teaching abilities. The final merit list will be based on combined performance in both stages.

1. Written Examination: This stage consists of an objective test with a General Paper and a Subject Paper, totaling 450 marks. Paper 1 covers General English, General Studies, Aptitude, and Pedagogy (150 Marks). Paper 2 is on the Concerned Subject (300 Marks). The exam format is objective (MCQ) with a negative marking of 1/6th for each incorrect answer. Candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks.

2. Viva-Voce & Classroom Teaching: Candidates who clear the written examination will proceed to this stage, which includes an interview and a teaching skill assessment, carrying 50 marks. Components evaluated are personal interview, subject knowledge, teaching demonstration, and communication skills.

The total marks for the final merit list will be 500.

APPSC TGT Salary & Job Profile 2026

Selected candidates for the APPSC TGT posts will receive an attractive salary package under Pay Matrix Level-7. These positions are classified as Group-B (Non-Gazetted) within the Education Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The pay scale ranges from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. In addition to the basic pay, selected teachers will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical benefits, and other allowances as per government rules.
