Bihar STET 2026 Passing Marks: The Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026 is a state-level exam. Candidates who want to pursue a teaching career in Bihar state. They need to appear for the entrance examination. There are two papers organised, i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2, for the candidates. 

The exam is divided into two distinct levels:

  • Paper 1 is for secondary classes (Grades 9 and 10). Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in the relevant subject along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.

  • Paper 2 is for higher secondary classes (Grades 11 and 12). Candidates must hold a Master's degree (Postgraduation) in the relevant subject along with a B.Ed. degree.

Bihar STET 2026 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Candidates should know the marking scheme and exam pattern. It can help them to start with the exam preparation accordingly. 

  • Total Questions: 150 multiple-choice questions.

  • Total Marks: 150 marks (1 mark per question).

  • Exam Duration: 2.5 hours (150 minutes).

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Section-Wise Breakdown

The question paper contains 150 questions divided into two main sections:

  1. Specific Subject Section (100 Questions / 100 Marks): Questions are directly based on the candidate's chosen teaching subject, such as Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, or Languages.

  2. Teaching Skills and General Subjects (50 Questions / 50 Marks): This section evaluates general awareness, logical skills, and teaching methodology.

    • Art of Teaching: 30 Marks (Covers lesson planning, teaching methods, micro-teaching, classroom management, and evaluation strategies).

    • General Knowledge: 5 Marks (Covers geography, sports terms, world facts, and capitals).

    • Environmental Science: 5 Marks (Covers natural resources, ecosystems, and living organisms).

    • Mathematical Ability: 5 Marks (Covers basic arithmetic, geometry, mensuration, and statistics).

    • Logical Reasoning: 5 Marks (Covers number series, blood relations, direction sense, and coding-decoding).

Bihar STET 2026 Normalisation Process

Bihar STET 2026 Normalisation Process has been applied as the exam is organised in multiple shifts and on multiple days. Normalisation can help candidates for the fair calculation of marks in the exam. It is irrespective of the difficulty level and exam days. 

Under normalisation:

  • Raw scores are adjusted based on shift difficulty.

  • The final normalised score is compared against the category-wise cutoff percentage to determine qualification.

  • Attempting too many wrong answers may negatively impact normalised scores, even though there is no explicit negative marking penalty.
