CG Assistant Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2026 includes the minimum requirements that candidates must meet for participating in the recruitment drive. It includes educational qualification, age limit, and other criteria. 

Educational Qualifications

To be eligible, candidates must meet any one of the following criteria:

• Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

• Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations, 2002.

• Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

• Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

• Graduation degree with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

• Mandatory Requirement: Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate government.

Age Limit (As on January 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years

• Maximum Age: 35 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get up to 5 years relaxation.

• Female candidates of Chhattisgarh get up to 10 years relaxation.

• Permanent/Temporary State Government employees can apply up to 38 years.

• Ex-Servicemen, PwD, and Award Winner candidates also receive age relaxation as per rules.

• The maximum age limit after all relaxation benefits cannot exceed 45 years.

Other Conditions

• The candidate must be a resident (domicile) of Chhattisgarh state.

• Selected candidates receive the basic pay along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances approved by the Chhattisgarh State Government.
