The postponement of the September 2026 exam cycle was prompted by a Supreme Court order. The court directed CBSE to provide a fair chance to eligible teaching aspirants who could not complete their registration before the initial deadline.

Both papers consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking for incorrect answers. A minimum score of 60% (90 marks out of 150) is required for general category candidates to qualify the examination.
