Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially cancelled CTET 2026 Paper 2 at two examination centres in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The decision was taken after the exam could not be conducted due to unavoidable issues. While rumours of a nationwide cancellation spread online, CBSE clarified that the issue was limited to only two centres and that CTET 2026 was conducted smoothly at the remaining locations across the country. To ensure fairness, the board has confirmed a re-examination within 15 days for affected candidates.
CBSE cancelled CTET 2026 Paper 2 at two centres located in Vaishali (Hajipur), Bihar. The cancellation followed significant delays in receiving question papers on exam day. As the delay exceeded the permissible waiting period, conducting the exam fairly was not possible. The decision was taken to protect the integrity of the examination process. CTET Paper 2 was otherwise completed successfully nationwide.
According to CBSE, out of 1,803 CTET centres, Paper 2 was held successfully at 1,801 locations. Only two centres in Vaishali district were affected due to unavoidable circumstances. The board confirmed that affected candidates will be informed separately.
CBSE has confirmed that the CTET 2026 Paper 2 re-exam will be conducted within 15 days. The revised exam date, time, and instructions will be shared directly with affected candidates. No re-application is required for the re-examination. Candidates should wait for official communication only. The re-test will be held following the same exam pattern and guidelines.
Candidates allotted to the affected centres should remain calm and avoid rumours. They must regularly check the official CTET website for updates. Admit cards and registration details should be kept ready. There is no impact on candidates who appeared at other centres. CTET 2026 Schedule remains unchanged for the rest of India.
