Nationality

Candidates applying for the Gujarat TAT 2026 must be citizens of India.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold the educational and training qualifications prescribed by the state government for appearing in the Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary). These qualifications are subject to amendments from various Education Department resolutions. As per the latest resolution (July 15, 2023) for Higher Secondary teachers, candidates require an M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./M.R.S. degree with an Integrated B.Ed. A Post Graduate degree combined with an Integrated M.Ed. is also considered valid. Students in the final year of their Post-Graduate degree or professional qualification (B.Ed.) during the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply conditionally. They must submit their final year mark sheet showing successful completion of the relevant qualification by the time of the teacher recruitment process.

Gujarat TAT 2026 Application Process

The application process for Gujarat TAT 2026 is entirely online. Candidates must follow a series of steps to successfully register, fill out the form, upload documents, and pay the application fee. Ensure you have all necessary documents and information ready before starting.

Steps to Apply Online:

• Visit the official website – ojas.gujarat.gov.in

• Click on "Apply Online".

• Select "Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary) - 2026" from the available forms.

• Click "Apply Now" and fill in your Personal Details. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

• Fill in your Educational Details accurately.

• Click "Save". An Application Number will be generated, which you must keep safe for future reference.

• Upload a recent photograph (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format. Each file size should not exceed 10 KB.

• Click "Confirm Application" after reviewing your details. No modifications can be made after confirmation.

• A Confirmation Number will be generated after successful confirmation. This number is essential for all future correspondence.

• Pay the examination fee online using ATM-DEBIT CARD / CREDIT CARD / NET BANKING / UPI / WALLET through the online payment gateway between February 10, 2026, and February 20, 2026.

• After successful payment, print the E-Receipt. If an E-Receipt is not generated after fee deduction, contact the State Examination Board via email (gseb21@gmail.com) immediately.

The selection process for the Gujarat TAT 2026 involves a two-tier competitive examination. Candidates must clear both preliminary and main exams to be considered for selection. The process evaluates both subject knowledge and teaching aptitude.

1. Preliminary Examination: This is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format exam. It consists of 200 questions for 200 marks, with a total duration of 180 minutes. The test has two sections: Section 1 (100 questions, common for all) and Section 2 (100 questions, subject-specific). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Candidates scoring above the cut-off will qualify for the Main Examination.

2. Main Examination: This is a descriptive written examination with two papers. Paper-1 focuses on Language Proficiency (100 marks, 150 minutes), allowing candidates to choose Gujarati, Hindi, or English. Paper-2 covers Subject Content and Pedagogy (100 marks, 180 minutes), based on the chosen subject and medium.

3. Qualifying Standards: For the merit list, General Category candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the Main Examination. SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, and PH category candidates need a minimum of 55% marks in the Main Examination.
