Step 1: Registration on the Official Website

Click on “New Candidate Registration”.
Enter basic details like name, mobile number, and email ID.
Create your profile and generate your OTR ID.
Step 2: Identity Verification
Enter your Aadhaar number and verify using OTP.
Verify your mobile number and email ID with OTP.
Complete the live photo capture process using your phone.
Once verified, you can move to the next step of the application.
The official website for UP TET is UPTET.OTR. When you visit the website, you will find two main options:
New Candidate: This option is for applicants who need to create a permanent UPESS C profile and establish an OTR ID.
Candidate Login: This is for existing users to log in using their mobile number or OTR ID.
The first stage of the application requires entering your personal details. It is important to accurately fill in each field and verify the information.
Name: Enter your name and re-enter to verify its accuracy.
Father's Name: Provide and confirm your father's name.
Mother's Name: Provide and confirm your mother's name.
Date of Birth: Enter and confirm your date of birth.
Gender: Select and confirm your gender.
Aadhaar card verification is a mandatory step, requiring an OTP (One-Time Password). Ensure your Aadhaar card is linked to your mobile number for this process. Confirm that you are 18 years of age or older as per NCTE guidelines to be eligible for UP TET.
Verification Steps:
Enter your Aadhaar number and verify it with an OTP.
Enter your mobile number and verify it with an OTP.
Enter your email ID and verify it with an OTP.
Live Photo Identity Verification:
Once Aadhaar, mobile, and email are successfully verified, the "Live Photo Identity Verification" section will become active.
A QR code will appear on your screen.
Scan the QR code using your phone's camera.
You will be redirected to capture a live photograph using your phone.
After capturing, your identity will be verified automatically.
Following identity verification, you will establish your login credentials for future access.
Enter a password that meets the specified criteria.
Confirm the password by re-entering it.
Select a security question from the provided list and furnish its answer.
Complete any additional verification steps, such as a CAPTCHA.
Click "Register and Proceed Next" to finalize this stage.
On the subsequent page, you will provide further personal details.
Marital Status.
Place of Birth.
Visible Identity Mark (e.g., a mole, scar).
Category: Select this carefully as it impacts eligibility and reservation.
Differently Abled (PwD) / PH Category: Indicate if this applies to you.
Special Reservation: This category applies to specific groups like ex-servicemen or army officials for age relaxation. Select "Yes" if applicable, otherwise "No".
Click "Save & Next". This completes the "Personal Details" section of your application.
The "Address Details" section is next.
Enter your complete current address accurately.
Click "Save Address & Next" to proceed.
The "Academic Qualification" section is crucial and requires careful entry. You must list your qualifications in sequential order, starting with 10th (High School), then 12th (Intermediate), Graduation, and Post-Graduation (if applicable). Additionally, include Training Qualifications like D.El.Ed (formerly BTC) or B.Ed.
Entry Procedure for Each Qualification:
For each qualification (e.g., 10th standard), input:
Board from which you obtained the qualification.
Year of Passing.
Subjects studied.
Roll Number.
Marksheet Number.
Grading System (e.g., CGPA or Percentage).
Click "Add Entry" to include multiple qualifications.
This section requires uploading various documents. Ensure all documents are ready and correctly sized before beginning.
Passport Size Photograph:
Size: 30 KB to 300 KB.
Signature:
Size: 10 KB to 200 KB.
Photo Identity Proof:
Upload your PAN card or Aadhaar card.
Enter the corresponding ID number.
10th Marksheet: Upload the scanned copy.
12th Marksheet: Upload the scanned copy.
Graduation Marksheet: Upload the scanned copy.
Hand Declaration:
Write the exact provided declaration (in Hindi or English) on a plain paper.
Sign below the declaration.
Upload this page as a single image/PDF.
Example Declaration: "I hereby declare that all entries in online registration application are based on my original records and are true and correct to the best of my knowledge."
Training Certificate: Upload your D.El.Ed or B.Ed certificate.
After successfully uploading all documents, proceed to review your application.
Click "Proceed to Preview and Submit".
A complete preview of your application will be displayed, showing all personal details, academic qualifications, and uploaded documents.
Review all details thoroughly for any errors or discrepancies.
Click "Yes, I have checked everything" or a similar confirmation button.
Click "Complete OTR File" to submit your One-Time Registration.
Upon successful OTR generation, you can now apply for the UPTET exam.
Select "Apply Now" for UP TET 2026.
Select the level for which you are applying:
Paper 1 (Primary - Class 1 to 5)
Paper 2 (Upper Primary - Class 6 to 8)
You may apply for both if you meet the eligibility criteria (e.g., Graduation + D.El.Ed).
Government Teacher Status: Indicate whether you are currently employed as a government teacher.
Subject Group (for Paper 2):
Choose between "Math & Science" or "SST (Social Studies)".
Essential Qualification (Primary Class 1-5):
Select your specific qualification, e.g., "Graduate with 2-year D.El.Ed/BTC from an NCTE recognized institution."
Qualification Status: Indicate if you are "Appearing" or "Passed". Both candidates are eligible to apply.
If "Passed," enter the Date of Graduation/Marksheet.
If "Appearing," enter the Expected Date of Graduation/Marksheet.
Essential Qualification (Upper Primary Class 6-8): Select your qualification from the options provided.
Board/University: Enter the board or university from which you obtained your qualifying degree.
This section is for choosing your languages for the exam.
First Language: Hindi is mandatory and will be pre-selected.
Second Language: Choose one from the options: English, Urdu, or Sanskrit.
Click "Save & Next".
This stage requires specific qualification documents pertinent to the paper(s) you are applying for.
Paper 1: Upload the 2-year D.El.Ed mark sheet (PDF).
Paper 2: Upload the relevant mark sheet (e.g., BTC, D.El.Ed) for Upper Primary.
Verify successful uploads for each document.
The final step involves a complete review of your exam application and fee payment.
Click "Proceed to Preview".
The Exam Application Preview will show details, including separate application numbers if you applied for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Review all details once again meticulously.
Click "I Agree to Above Declaration".
Click "Confirm and Proceed to Payment".
You will then be directed to the payment gateway to complete the application process by paying the required fees (depending on paper choice).
Application fee is ₹1000 for General/OBC/EWS, ₹500 for SC/ST, and ₹300 for PwD candidates (same for one or both papers).
