JSSC Para Teacher Eligibility 2026

Applicants must fulfil specific qualification and age requirements to be eligible:

• Educational Qualification (Classes 1 to 5): Candidates must pass Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 4-year B.El.Ed. Candidates must also pass JTET (Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test) for Classes 1 to 5.

• Educational Qualification (Classes 6 to 8): Candidates must hold a 3-year Graduation degree in the relevant subject along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, a B.Ed. degree, or a 4-year B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. Candidates must also pass JTET for Classes 6 to 8.

• Work Experience: Candidates must be working as Para Teachers (Assistant Teachers) under the Jharkhand Education Project Council with at least 2 years of continuous service.

• Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 21 years as of August 1, 2026. The maximum age limit varies by category, up to a maximum upper age limit relaxation of 58 years for working para teachers.

• Main Examination: Candidates must appear for a single-stage competitive exam conducted through Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) or Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

• Paper 3: General Knowledge & Current Affairs (50 marks), Social Science (75 marks), Science & Math (75 marks) (Total 200 marks, 3 hours).

Upper Primary Level (Classes 6 to 8): The exam consists of 4 papers conducted in 4 shifts.

Selected candidates receive monthly remuneration according to official government pay level scales.

• Graduate Trained Assistant Acharya (Classes 6 to 8): Pay Level-5 (₹29,200 - ₹92,300).
